Hey guys, Art here. I'm thinking about getting a new board and I am really interested in a Firewire. I have to say though, I am a little worried about the balsa rails. Is the reason people switched from wooden boards to fiberglass because of beaver attacks?

the balsa rails are a little stronger than the "Rapidfire" tech. the rapid fire tech has a male/female carbon rail stringer which under tension snaps in the mid point. the problem with the balsa rails is once you get a ding make sure you dry it out!

Hey Art...just don't add any squirrel/fish meatballs to the mix to stay warm. Trust me, Beavers loves meatballs.

Thats a common misconception, Art. The north american beaver, or castor canadensis, enjoys nothing more than gobbling wood. However, unlike their furrier European counterparts, they prefer dark wood over the light balsas that flank your stick. Also, beware of older, aging beavers, for they can be quite aggresive.
