So, I busted my ankle back in july. Snapped it in 3 places, and my doctor finally said - "get back to the water." I'm so excited I might have to jump on this 2 foot wind slop! Sorry to post such a lame post - but after 9 months - I was on the verge of going postal!

Good you're able to get back in the water. 9 months is a long-assed time.

Anyone who thinks line-up etiquette and regulation is just about surfing and having fun should take note...

Drop-ins and careless behaviour in the lineup can and do have real consequences....Serious injury and no surfing for the better part of a year. You paid a steep price for someone else's carelessness.

dude all i can say is dont push it. i had reconstructive surgery on my knee in december and my doctor is hopefully going to medically clear me come april. but i know from what the physical therapists have said is dont go out and bust huge airs and just take it day by day so you dont end up back at the doctor or physical therapists re-doing everything.

Get a personal trainer to get the ankle stronger and get more inshape to surf. Wouldn't believe how much better you can surf when your fit.

had a knee meniscus scope this past Dec 6, rehabbed it, and surfed shoulder/head high onshore waves about three weeks ago (about 2.5 mo's post surgery) in RI... injuries suck. I had my ACL completely re done when I was 18, 7 years ago so I have some experience with dealing with them.
