What does everyone think the chances are that this actually goes operational and will have a decent wave worth whatever astronomical price they will charge. There was a plan to do this down in Orlando. Investors backed out and to this day it is just an empty pit.
if it didn't make it in orlando, i can pretty much guarantee it won't happen there. There's no money for that in Hanover. but, if somehow it did, i wouldn't mind making a day trip to go try it at least
http://www.pointbreaksurfpark.com/ wow that looks ridiculously lame ... a knee high flowrider ... LAME!
Your a KOOK....that **** sux. And u actually sound super stoked about it! Dont ever post something this worthless.
Ha Ha. You sir are the KOOK. I simply bring up the topic for conversation. I don't feel one way or the other about it. But I do agree someone at some point will figure this out. By the way it is the use of "actually" and the self-sensoring that made your post truly amazing.
uh oh......grammer police!!!!! I'm sorry what I should have written earlier was: "Dude, that wave is ****in(and it's spelled censored mr. english major) awesome bro........ SOOOOOO PITTTTEDDDDD"
Rick Kane? Rick Kane your up for your heat in the Hanover VA Wave Park contest. If you win take your winnings, fly to HI, meet a great shaper who coaches you to whoop Larid's ass even though he cheats to take the trophy. Sounds like a bad 80's surf flick, oh wait it is!
I had heard VB was supposed to build one where the old RK surf shop was. When they moved across the street I thought it was true. but that's been 3-5 years ago. If it's going to continue sucking, I'd be glad to go.
You misspelled grammar, but maybe that's supposed to be ironic? Either way, if they could bring the wave garden concept to the east coast when its flat in July, it would be way more fun than drinking a beer praying for the flat spell to end. "Here's something that will buy you a few extra tacos-$500 cash!" Love the Rick Cane.
you must be hallucinating. My gramma isn't on here. SHE"S DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for bringing the pain back, bastid.
when are businessmen/investors gonna realize that this idea will never pan out. Its a huge waste of time and resources and in order to be profitable there must be some other attraction backing it. (Typhoon Lagoon for example) That wave garden in europe is as close to good as any have ever been and you watch, it will be shutdown or gone in just a few years.
VB has gotten more "tolerant" about surfing this century, It was no surfing 10-5pm Memorial to Labor day except for 1st and S side of the pier(maybe). How does VB feel about Mooslim surfers? Probably likes them more since there's a good chance they've go money.
The East coast would sadly support any good wave park. Since we seem to get the longest lulls on the planet (ouch! sad but true), any Typhoon Lagoon type place would make it, but I have body surfed the Disney wave at many times and it still is pretty weak, but fun. I think the goal would be build something like Malibu, Trestles or Honolua Bay that can go for a 100 yards+ and can be cranked up to solid head high plus conditions. Somewhere this century I think it happens, but not until after 2050. Here is where you need to go to get the longest ride... China? Dayum that would be fun if it was nearby...as long as the toxins in the water don't kill ya. Swell hits twice a day, every day. With a dry bag type backpack you could use a R.S. Hot Karl for what it was designed for...a commuter board. Get an otterbox for your phone and read the news on the way to work too.
