Im 14 years old, i've been surfing for 3 years now and im now looking for something i can catch waves easily on. I was looking for a Al Merrick Waterhog preferably 7'1", good condition, and a low price. I know this is a lot to ask for but its worth it to try.

    -Thanks

I agree that 7'1" seems big if you are looking to ride a shortboard. My 14 year old son has a 5'8" CI Pod, which has great float and paddling, but he wishes it didn't have as much float when the waves are over 3'. The float makes it difficult to duck dive so he has to ditch the board and try to swim through the white water. It's not fun getting knocked around by the waves on a board you can't control.
But if you are looking to longboard it looks like a good choice. Good with your search.

why limit you choice to one particular board model?

i agree it does seem a little big, but the board is a great board and thats the smallest size the board comes in. i've been riding a short board for 3 years and want to experience a longboard.

Longboards start @ 9'............. a high performance LB would be what you want if you meant longboard and not just a longer board.
