Went out this morning from 8-12 with a 4/3, no gloves and 7mm boots (all I have) and was perfectly comfortable, oh and the waves were tasty.

I have never surfed holyoke. I have checked it out and it looks fun, but I hesitate to paddle out there because it is always pretty busy and the jetties around Berkeley are always pretty empty. Maybe my next trip there 4/26-4/29, I'll paddle out at holyoke. Seems like there is the left off of the jetty to the north and then another peak toward the middle of the beach.

if you guys are ditching the hoods and gloves already I would do a little research about surfers ear before losing the hood.

If your gonna head south on the island there is no point to surfing anywhere just north of holyoke, stay south of it....

I have had fun around Berkeley, but will take you up on that advice and check out holyoke or the wooden jetty at the end of the island. I like to keep a low profile and respect the local surfers you know? Anyway, I will be riding a 9'0 light blue and yellow stiped Walden or a 6'8" Mahady fish, white with green rails and bottom.
