    41.9%
  2. According to them, they NEVER EVER EVER lose their board

    25.8%
  3. They are self-important narcissistic phvktards

  4. Gruvi doesn't wear a leash, so why should they?

I don't think you should paddle out without a leash unless you're pro. I don't care how good you think you surf, sometimes the situation is outa ur hands. The water doesn't revolve around you. Be smart. Don't be selfish. Slap a leash on and keep everyone else's board and head ding free.

Kiddies on the inside? LEASH, no matter what.[/QUOTE]

    +1

Perhaps it's cliche', but no one (I assume) wants to see any kids get hurt.

When it comes to kids in the shorebreak I'll leash it. My kids are learning leashless (down the beach away from the crowds) because I want them to respect every aspect of surfing, including hanging onto your board when you fall and swimming in after it giving them time to reflect why they're swimming after their board. *They will be stronger surfers for it in the long run, and probably out paddle most of the males in the lineup in the process.* Except for me. They go to their room if they snake me, we've already set the ground rules. Leashes have their place in surfing, but they should'nt be used as a crutch or a way to bypass the cardinal rules of lineup etiquite. Don't get in the way of another surfer's line unless you have absolutely no choice and learn how to hold onto your board. Learn these things before you take your surfing to the next level... It's a shame that most of the people learning to surf in the last 10 years have bypassed the basics and taken the easy way out.

Even with your heels... when you're pulling in so hard you get that hamstring cramp so bad you feel it in your ba11s.

I'd like to see someone hold on to their board when they get clipped in a head high + barrel. I think I would even pay money....

O-M-G! Did you just say that?.......Brahahahahahaha!

It is funny that in the "surfing world" a short board equals a bigger member. O' it's NOT true ;) but still funny.

ive been hit in the face by boards when the people wear leashes, and I have hit people in the face while wearing a leash. I dont wear a leash because of other people, I wear it so I dont have to chase my board up onto the rocks or chase it in general. Quit being a ***** and punch the kid in the face, problem solved

@vbbuttoo, if you get hit in the head and get knocked out or do a face plant the sand bar and break your friggin neck what is a leash gonna do, you better hope you have some friends that dont mind giving you mouth to mouth...like leethestud said, go to a crowded beach wear a leash, if your at a sandbar with a couple of buds, with no other people out, dont worry about it...nuff said

I hear the same excuses that idiots give for driving without seat belts: I don't like how it rubs me, I wear it if there's traffic, and my favorite, I only don't wear it when I'm going slow (small waves). Bull****.

Sounds like someone's jealous that the kid can surf circles around him, and uses the lack of leash as an excuse to hate.

ERock, totally with you man. Reading a lot of the posts above it is clear I am not surfing the northeast anytime soon. Leashes are one of the things I fully agree on with short boards and on many logs. I have seen too many people who have no safety regard for others around them. No worries though on those of you without a leash...if your board hits me, I will own it and much of the other really cool items you have and will probably even let you help pay to send my grand kids to college. I have only seen one time that a pro surfer didnt wear a leash after switching boards mid heat. If you are competing in longboard then I understand but the beach is policed at those times and there are only a few others in the heat in the locale with you. Be smart please, use common sense.

you know the problem with all of this "sue you for everything you own" logic? Nobody knows who I am out there!! I don't carry ID to go surfing. Who hit you? "I don't know, some long haired guy" lol I'd be gone, and good luck restraining me, pu55y.

    Stud out.
