Yo what the hell are those stickers about anyway? I've got real sand in the back of my ride, don't need some logo on the back either. We gotta keep it O Rig Nall or we're all gonna fall down.

Salt Life was started by some guy in Gainesville (read: inland), Florida. I'm surprised y'all are just now seeing them, they have been the idiot redneck trend down here for a couple years now. I even see knock-off stickers saying things like "Hunting Life," "Redneck Life," "Jesus Life," and a couple others. It's completely ridiculous, like the No Fear was back in the day and the Truck Nuts phenomenon more recently, and caters to morons, rednecks and frat people (lol, maybe that's an oxymoron).

However, the guy that came up with it has been rolling in the dough--good on him. And I thank him for creating a way to spot a tool bag before getting to close to them.

Hilarious!!! I copied this fromthe saltlife page... its the surfers mantra.
reads like they tallied the basic, core interests in surfing and then put it into paragraph form!
the best part is that they dont concern themselves with contest....

    funny stuff below:

Here at Salt Life, we take surfing just as seriously as fishing and diving. It runs in our veins because we are hardcore watermen who can never get enough of the Salt Life or how the ocean blesses us and we take full advantage of it! We travel to exotic places in search of uncrowded, untouched, perfect waves.
We like to consider ourselves “free surfers,” never concerned with contest ratings or points. We surf because we love it. It's an expression of our individual lives and perspectives. We have a unique culture that everyone wants to emulate but few ever can. Our travels always consist of a couple great friends, no schedule and a secret location.

We try switching it up in our travels but usually end up in Hawaii in the winter and pumping Puerto Escondido in summer. We are always in search of the perfect session when all the conditions are right. Nothing beats great waves with a couple buddies – and we mean nothing. Each person pushes the other harder and harder. Surfing is our passion and traveling is a must. It's a way of life. Salt Life. More

Salt Life apparel and surfing clothes have been popular with the surfing crowd since the first sticker appeared on a rear window of a vehicle loaded with boards. Not only can you top your favorite surfboard with our latest decal, you can also top yourself in a comfortable, non-restrictive Salt Life surfing shirt or pullover. Our signature Salt Life Fancy Sailfish crew neck or a short sleeve surfing T-shirt will tell everyone at the beach that you've chosen to live the Salt Life. Your friends can spot you anywhere on the beach wearing our bright Team Hog t-shirt. Don't forget your younger surfing buds. Kids love the cartoon prints on our youth short sleeve Skull & Poles surfing T-shirt in orange or our white surf shirt with our new Hook, Line and Sinker kid's print.

Everyone will know that you've made a commitment to the surfing lifestyle when you use our Signature & Surfboards stickers (available black and aluminum) to identify your favorite things. If you're looking for something different in a die cut vinyl decal, check out our medium-sized new Skull & Boards. For the ladies surfboard or vehicle, we've added a white or pink print Hibiscus & Surfboards decal (medium and large sizes) to the Salt Life decals that were already available in black and aluminum. You can pack a dry towel in our Signature & Hibiscus or Signature & Skull shoestring backpack available in pink and black, respectively. Add our signature Salt Life sunglasses strap to your next order and your favorite eye protection will always be hanging around... your neck that is.

I agree that it's an over blown statement but it's really no different than most companies cashing in on the Surf World today. Even your top name surf companies put thier names on items that have nothing to do with surfing..........It's all about the Benjamins........You can never escape it.

I've been waiting to be put on the Salt Life team for years. I heard that if you make the team, you get a "Salt Life" sticker each month. I'm so stoked.
