Man what a bunch of winers there are on this sight, I was just looking for some surf related stuff to read during lunch and this is what I got . Meet me at my break and we can exchange insults and act like 3 graders< Grow up and be real I have surfed the east coast for 35 years have only meet a couple of a$$es like I read posting on here, , You guys need to chill and remember to be surfers not winers, Meet me at my break if you want to surf, but stay home if your busy being a loser, I love surfing in a crowd as long as everyones cool and most the time they are.
Another whiner complaining about whiners.... starting another stellar thread while complaining about the lack of quality threads. That is some funny sh!t.
nice. you nailed it. sure. there's a lot of bs on here (especially during the summer) but it's worth wading through the slop (and even participating in the slop when you're bored out of your skull) to mine the gems. the slop can actually rock. if it's not for you, just do something else with your time...
For me, it's just best not to get too worked up over it. Sit back and enjoy the show. I hope you keep posting some pics from Alaska... would love to see some surf ones if you get them.
I don't like surfers who are better than me shooting me dirty looks even when we're not in the same lineup, I don't like West Coast people telling me how sh!tty the waves are in South Carolina, and I don't like it when friends text me pictures of good surf while I have to work, although there was this one time when I got the text and immediately dismissed class yelling at them as I ran out of the room, "Swell's firing. If you surf, get your ass out there". Here's the thing, though: I rarely get shot dirty looks, and when I do I just smile and wave (I usually get a nonthreatening acknowledgement). I've found that hardcore West Coasters see us for what we are--people trying to suck the life out of whatever surf we get, and it's not my friends who I dislike, but the uncaring dean who fails to understand the religious obligation I have to make it to the water while there is still time. That said, I will absolutely whine about overweight hopeless housewife tourists lecturing me about being more careful when get when I get within 10 feet of their equally overweight progeny as they stand in my line staring in wide eyed, slack jawed mental dormancy. People say and write stupid shyte all the time, I get it, it's what we do because we're human. Whining about what others have to say seems about as worthwhile as weighing your bag of Doritos just to make sure you really did get 16oz., so I won't meet you out at your break to surf. it's likely that you have some redeeming qualities, you just come off as being kind of a ****.
Well said- I have been surfing since the late 60's & the reason is not just surfing. Remember the coach screaming at you to run laps? I guess it builds charachter, but I would rather be in the water. From the day I started, I liked the people that surfed, the places they hung out & their stories. I guess the cure for all of this would be waves.
There is good and bad to every forum, this one i thought would be above the trolling BS you find on most sites, but then i realized it's the interweb, it comes with the territory. A couple of quotes came to mind... "It's the sour and the sweet. And I know sour, which allows me to appreciate the sweet." "The sweet is never as sweet without the sour, and I know the sour"
So which one of your co-workers is high-jacking the forum while "Dad" is on vacation and posting SJB threads? Or are you able to do all this from your smartphone?
