Good news for everyone on the outer banks and really for much of the east coast. The Diamond Shoals buoy (41025), which is located just offshore of the cape at Cape Hatteras has finally been restored. I think it is located a bit further to the south then it was previously, but none the less it is such a good location to judge how swells are developing right off the coast. You'll find the Diamond Shoals buoy data on the Mid Atlantic and Southeast buoy maps, and it is set as the default buoy for Buxton and Frisco forecast pages.
