Ok guys so serious customer service issues are going down.

I ordered a toobs Herlihy with channels on July 3rd. I guess they were busy because the board didn't get here until July 28th (today). The board I wanted was in the local surf shop 2 minute walk from my house without channels, but I wanted channels so i custom ordered off of toobs.com.

All I do with bodyboarding is about 80% standup. I already tore through 2 other boards including one herlihy without channels. I ordered the second one after my first started taking on water (July 3rd). So i'm without a board for 25 days. FINALLY the board comes today and it has NO channels. I paid for them....just an error with toobs.

    So my question is:
Are channels really that important on a Herlihy? Anyone have experience riding both models? Because seriously I just want to ride...and if I have to wait another month to get my order right im going to be pissed. 25 days was already hell without a board. I don't know if i'm ready to wait all that time again....my summer is going to be over by then.

    Thanks for the help.

    just go no channels.

it sounds like they basically have to make a custom board for you. taking the herlihy, and giving it channels. So, 3 weeks is about normal from toobs on custom boards.

I think if I remember correctly channels are better for bigger waves. So If you are using it in the winter and hurricane season -get the channels. Although I may be wrong on this though. Anyone more knowledgable know?
As for Toobs I would get a refund for paying for the Channels but still get them on the board. (Get them for free) In other words they should do SOMETHING to compensate. Just state what you did on this forum and ask them what would be FAIR for a trade of no board when there waves to be ridden. You should receive something and if not cancel your order and never buy them again and buy a Paddle board .Just kiddin.

Three weeks for a Toobs Custom is dead on.
Personally I don't think the channels are going to make a big difference.
I know quite a few who are really good stand up boogie guys for the summer and I don't know any of them that ride channels.
I have a 50" Toobs custom stand up without channels but I'm not any good at it
In the right hands I'm sure that the board would perform just fine.
Skim182 - If you contact Toobs with a picture of the invoice stating that channels were specified and a picture of the board with no channels I'm sure that they would gladly rectify the situation.
They have always been on top of things for me.
    Hope this helps.
