Lol yes they do. Have you ever seen where a benny/shoobie comes from? Check out Philly and NY trash all over. These people are pigs. Its the city people who have no respect they use our beachs and trash the place up. I do agree with you thought it seems to get worse every year. This year at least in belmar has been really really really bad with the trash. I was surfing one day in March or April I cant even remember but it was a decently nice day out for what month it was and there was alot of people on the beach hanging out. When I got out of the water i noticed the people where all gone and trash every where. I picked up what I could on my way back to the boardwalk and threw it out. The funny thing was a blue trash can was right where they where sitting.

Yep, only city people cause problems in beach towns. Every tourist that comes from a small town treats the beach with respect. Give me a break...there are loud, littering jerks from cities, small towns, and beach towns. True - more from cities. Look, I live in NYC, I grew up in OC, MD (not visiting for the summer, actually living there year round - parents are still there). I've seen both sides of the spectrum.

I really think that when the majority of people go on vacation, they treat the people and places they visit with respect. You have a small minority that screws it up for everyone else and causes issues like these.

I make it a point to confront litterbugs if I catch them in the act. One day I will confront the wrong person... but it hasn't happened yet.

I got all in somebody's face over it once only to find out it was a banana that they had tossed out the window... talk about feeling like an a55.

So what if it's a banana peel...throw that crap in a trash can.

I have confronted people about littering as well, and it usually has no effect whatsoever. Quick story: This guy comes out of the drug store with a toy for his kid and proceeds to open the toy and throw all the packaging on the ground. There are probably 5 trash cans within 50 feet of this scumbag. So I say, "What, you don't use trash cans where you're from? You're setting a great example for your kid." He glares at me, gets in his car, and drives away.

Some people just don't care. Smokers are the best - just throwing cigarette butts on the ground. What do they think happens to those? The cigarette butt fairy comes and cleans them up? Enjoy your lung cancer.

When I lived on Maui, it always seemed to be the locals who trashed the beach. Heaven forbid they'd have a beach party, the next morning, the beach would look like a bomb had exploded in a frat house, so anyone pulling the locals take care of the beach and the 'tourons' trash it is really take break from reality.

Definately not people from Nags Head, Us Nc people don't go to NJ. And probably not people from VB because they all flood the OBX when there is surf.
