Not "boogie", not "body", but "BOOGER", let's get the vocab. straight everyone.

I don't hate boogers, except the one's from my nose, but it's HILARIOUS to read this thread and hear how you guys have ZERO sense of humor.

SURF NAZIS!!!!!!! LETS FIGHT!!! haha I love how people can be so down right hateful on the internet but in reality they would put their tail between their legs and scurry off at the slightest confrontation :D I must say its very amusing at the least :)

    I like that.
I have a much bigger problem with guys on paddle boards snaking all the waves when there's a big swell than spongers... I try to keep in mind that just cause I'm riding a 5'8 doesn't make me any cooler than anyone else, hut the guys on paddle boards are just so selfish and show no regard for etiquette whatsoever.. they just take ever single wave, bc they can. Why not spread some Aloha? Share our ocean?

your wife is brilliant! i'll be stealing that comedian line!
as for stand up paddleboarding taking too long to say, you could just call it "sea sweeping", "stand up kayak", or just tell people that you're a janitor.

One of my good buddies actually fractured his skull about 10 years ago surfing, overhead day and the board clocked him in the head ... he was told he shouldnt surf until his skull was fully healed so he didnt surf for 2 months. He would come out on his sponge with a helmet on and a camera and took some water shots and got a few waves ... but as soon as he was heald enough to surf he got right back on his surfboard. He said those 2 months on a sponge were the worst months of his life...

Also what is the thrill of riding a knee to waist high wave on a sponge ... it looks absolutely pathetic hahaha

I respect anyone on any kind of board except when someone is hogging or sitting in the takeoff zone and putting everyone at risk or injury. My daughter rides both body and surfboards. Shes can do all the bodyboard tricks but also loves to long or short board it pending the waves and whos in the water. I like switching off once ina while too.

We all enjoy the ocean in our own way. Prejudice is juvenile.

I don't dislike flounders. However, they're going to have to earn my respect... how?... I don't know. But when they do, I'll know it and they'll know it.

Have you tried it surfer 'dude'? I have surfed east oast, westcoast, and Hawaii in my youth. At 40 I had a really bad skateboard accident leaving me screws holding one ankle together and a bad knee. Can't pop up on a surfboard anymore so I bodyboard and love it. At least I'm still on the waves. Just hope your arrogant little a## never has any health issues so you can stand on the board forever. What an egomaniac! All riders have the right to do whatever they want.

It all comes down to safety i think. Bein in pr ive noticed the spongers ride like they dont care if they cause somebody to get tossed to the shallows. I think its the macho i dont give a duck spongers that make it aggrivating. But if everyones hootin n hollerin n makin themselves aware to where the shell they r then everythings gravy. Gonna go take sum geebs n get to that whole surf sleep repeat business

Surf to live. Live to surf

Before we all start pointing fingers and starting cyber wars, youtube "surf & bodyboard accidents." For your convenience, I have included the link at the bottom of my post. This video shows how dedicated these surfers & bodyboarders are in Gijon. Ride after ride, the riders are faced with giant waves slamming them against a giant concrete wall. The message is simple: we are all on the same quest - the quest for tasty waves & a cool buzz.

    Shut the **** up.

captain john you sound lazy and full of excuses(typical body boarder) My dad blew out his pcl , acl , mcl on a trampoline, jumping with his grand kids after a year and some rehab he was back in the water surfing. this 2012 not 1901 modern medicine does wonders. I cant pop up and I need help fallen.jpg

I would say a little bit of both. I actually found the video trying to find a really sick picture to attach with my post. Watching the video has little to do with the battle between surfers & bodyboarders, but it shows the two groups taking the same beating for the same conditions. Look past the vehicle.

That's an interesting point. Maybe the "dislike" stems from the fact that bodyboards are ding free.
