My guess is through south florida or the south east. I don't think it will be in the open ocean long enough to give the mid atlantic or northeast noticeable swell. Maybe it will be able to hug the coast and we (the mid atlantic) could get some swell as it travels up, but I think it will just make landfall and that will be that.
been doin mine, plus walking 5 miles daily (between thunderstorms), cant wait, its been a while, just hope its not to blown out...it looks like we might get a double shot, yeesssss
He's stupid. It's going to the Gulf... I have prayed for surf from every little colorful blob this year. And nobody listened... Hopefully I'm the jinx that kept ruining it
Just get into the Gulf so we can have some surf. We definately need it more than those Mid Atlantic guys
I'm all for it, caught some waist to chest in the Gulf last night after work, was pretty fun actually, a bit sloppy but every now and then it would line up nicely, but if it goes East Coast i'm good w/that too, either way I win and it's going to be fun
These "Tropical Tidbits" video forecasts are great. Thanks for posting on here. The guy talking obviously knows his stuff and he was right on about the storm gaining moisture and cloud formation after it crossed the 50W line into warmer water... it was a good call. Well things are definitely looking interesting this morning with 2 potential storm tracks heading our way. Funny we might get swell from the second storm first as it comes up and makes it's turn around Bermuda sometime next week..
Lot of land mass and mountains this storm has to deal with coming across DR, Haiti, and Cuba. Kind of hard to imagine it staying cat 1 over all that mess.
..That's true.. but do you remember, I think it was Irene last year, was weakened quite a bit over those mountains...
https://www.fnmoc.navy.mil/wxmap_cgi/cgi-bin/wxmap_loop.cgi?&area=ww3_atlantic&prod=sgwvht&dtg=2012082206&set=SeaState 100% chance of forecast innacurracy, but it doesnt stop us from geeking on all the reports. Been a long summer. We'll all get waves come sep/oct. Keep the faith. "Go-Cart Mozart was checking out the weather charts to see if it was safe to go outside...." Boss
The islands rip the storm apart more if it passes south of the islands putting the NE quadrant over the mountains. If it stays on the current track the NE qaudrant will be in the water leaving it to maintain the cat 1 status.
Eat a B====-D Gulf! Isaac and Invest 96 OWE YOU NOTHING! They do, however, owe SE NC a whole, whole lot.
that is a great blog, he also has a website with good info on the storms here: http://www.tropicaltidbits.com/storminfo/
north easters will have to wait if they get anything at all..... Central gulf here, and debby created some new peaks that are just ripe for isaac. we had a nice 3 days surf here with some mushy waist highs as a prep. my rash will heal right in time for Isaac.... Id be weary if I was in punta gorda or port charolette....... Fun Times nonetheless when we get waves in our flat season
