Hey guys got a question for you. If you were limited to 3 wetsuits for the Mid Atlantic region (I'm in VA Beach), what would they be? I'm not necesarily talking brand, but rather type. I know I need to expand my wetsuit collection, but I want to keep it limited to 3 if possible because money is tight. I've got a 4/3 already (booties, gloves, hood) for the winter months, but that's it. Probably my first inclination was to buy a 3/2, and a shorty spring suit to cover the months that aren't trunk-able. But I also thought of maybe going with just a wetsuit top, and a 2mil full suit. That would be cheaper but I don't know if it'd cover the temp changes as well as a shorty + 3/2 setup. Any thoughts? If you got a suit you just love (brand, model, etc.) feel free to share. My 4/3 is an Oneill Psycho RG8 and I like it, but don't have anything to compare it to because its the first wetsuit I've ever owned. Thanks for the help

I would say a Spring suit, 3/2, and 5/4.... I would like to have a 4/3 for the inbetween season but I've gotta have the spring suit for those summer dawn patrolls.

I'm in MD and the suit i wear the most, hands down, is my 2mil short-sleeve full. I wear it more throughout the year than my 5/4, my 3/2 or my top. Bought it off a buddy used.... best $20 and a beer I ever spent.

Me too.. I love the spring suit. Keeps the rashes away and just improves my session all around. I wear it all summer except for the end of August/ Beggining of September. And even then I try :)

this + a wetsuit top is really all you need. truth be told, all you really need is a top, a 3/2, & a 5/4. additional suits, like a 4/3 or short arm full, are nice but not necessary.

i used to get away with a 4/3 all winter for years. did i get cold?? yea after about an hr or si in the dead of winter, but i sucked it up. if you are tight on money get yourself a wetsuit top and a 3/2. dont bother w a shortie. when u get some extra cash yhen u can get yourself the 5/4 and any other in between wetsuits

I love my shortie and extend it with a heavy longsleve rash guard. It is good earley morning when another suit would be stifeling. I can somtimes get away with this for some days in NOV. I have a 4/5 for dead winter and a 4mil for the spring late fall and this covers it nicely.

3 wetsuits? Quit being a princess. I surf more than most and I happily get by with a good 4/3 by xcel. Light enough for the spring / fall, warm enough for the winter.
