Who got some? Even the outer bars were working on a few of the bigger sets. Warm water, breeze directly off shore and plenty of waves to go around. Even got to watch some of the air show between sets here.

Yeah, i eventually found a break that had some ridable waves. The biggest wave I saw was probably around 4-5ft, and I knew there were better breaks out there especially after watching the Ocean City, NJ cam (wow), but I didnt want to travel too far away from my TV on football day.

The only thing that really bothered me was the sets. There would be like a 7-10 minute interval between sets with maybe 2-3 filler waves before a 7 wave set of 4-5ft waves rolled in.

Props to the f'u'casters....they called it right.

    VB:
Good stuff @ DP Sat morn until the north wind crushed it @ 0930-ish. But, then hanging at Rudee's & watching the fighters booming during the the Oceana air show was a pretty ok afternoon.

Good stuff again this morn (Sun) @ DP until incoming high reverbed it.
This afternoon was really good on incoming low. And seeing the Blue Angels blasting overhead in formation during the afternoon .... pretty damn humbling.

As the forecasters say about VB: incoming low is the better waves for surfing. Incoming low is so often better than actual low; it seems that on actual low, what was once good turns into frustrating, fast closeouts.

i disagree and think something magical happens at dead low sometimes at least where i surf. OCmd was so good tonight, so good as in if you can handle GIGANTIC closeouts. the shoulders were wow..insane barrells, what i call well overhead on the sets with some of the THICKEST pitching lips i've ever seen here.

Afternoon Incoming low was the best I saw all day. Wind helped too. Very true about the 5+ wave sets with long lulls between.

Who the hell wants to ride a close out? And I personally could care less about how thick the lip is. A barrel is a barrel. A super thick lip just means a beating at a beach break and a difficult paddle. No thanks. And the lull between sets was great. Made for a good paddle out. As long as it's not like 15 minutes between waves. It was only like 5 minutes between sets. You boys on the east coast just aren't use to the lull with all the windswell from near shore systems.

Everyone has a different wave type they like riding. Some people like a "newport wedge" like wave. That's you! lol To me trestles is a great wave. I do like blacks type of wave though too(when it's not super big). Depends on the mood. But super heaving thick lips are not my cup of wave.

yeah your right. there was one wave i rode all the way from way outside to driving my board into the sand*granted just a sponge* but was super fun in itself because it was the only wave that was by far that long a ride. i imagine the swell angle was actually good in south nj

anchor pt. was clean and small at dead low and filled in nicely on the incoming up until about an hour before high. overcast so no views but still a fun day. saw one seal and zero people.

alaska wow thats gnar. u guys really think incoming brought it in or was it just the swell filling in coinciding w/ the tide? cuz i thought tides didnt matter much with swells like this. this being a quality 14 second swell.
