I am sure there is already a post about this, didn't feel like trying to find it....anyway, does anyone else have problems with there leash wrapping up or getting all up in there feet? What do you do to keep your leash....I guess you would say loose and help it not tangle....thanks!
There is a post about this, but it's not worth finding it. Since I longboard, most of my leashes are 9'-10' and my leash never tangles up. At the same time, I don't wrap my leash around my board. This may be a quick fix solution, but in the long run, there is no escaping the occasional tangle. There is a leash out there with a metal disc to "prevent tangles," but I have heard mixed opinions. Try hanging your leash from a shower head or something - that might do the trick.
I rarely have this issue and I wrap mine around the fins sometimes, others i'll just take it off and throw it in the back of my vehicle till next session. I never really think about it, and I seem to not get tangled all that often although it has happened, just comes with the territory i suppose, but yeah, if you are having serious issues with it do what the others have suggested and hang it when done, don't wrap it around the fins, etc...
When you are going for a wave and you feel the leash wrapping around your foot do not try to unwrap the leash whiling paddling for the wave. Just try to lower your foot into the water and as you are going for the wave the current you cause will usually push the leash off your foot. I used to have this problem and I would always panic and try to get the leash off my foot right before I take off on the wave, now I dont even think about, with the above technique I rarely ever get tangled.
