PLEASE post pix and videos man I love LBI, It's my beach to surf at.. I hope everything goes well.. ik harvey cedars is going to get hit hard so tuck in tight!
That Halloween storm we had last year knocked our power out for 6 days. Hoping for better this time around but it's not looking good.
super, two things. first, ill try to snap some pictures tomorrow. i live on 20th so ill go down to the pier. second, for the cleanup on monday, where are you going? i might go to croatan or the pier. if its a crazy ass paddle out, i might just jump off the pier into the lineup
i'm hunkering down in oc, nj...stocked up on beer, food, & water. emergency bags are packed in case we decide to bug out at the last minute or if things start to get too hot for us, we'll just load up the jeep & power through it. i'll try to venture out & take some pics, but i might end up just getting drunk.
Post some pics if u can or updates if you have power. I sealed up the house in Sea Isle and inland at my other house. Be safe
it all depends man. im thinking croatan or first. and i say first because of the rip beside the rocks that will take you straight out. i never surfed the pier before. is there any laws on jumping off the pier (im sure there is) and how far up the pier can you go?
just checked out the VB cams...its about double overhead, the erosion down by croatan is pretty bad. the water is up to the dunes and we still have 2 full days of big surf left. saw a few sets go over the light on the rocks at 1st st. will be interesting tomorrow afternoon
starting to see some minor flooding w/ the rising tide here in my development at the south end of oc. nothing surprising given that the wind's been northeast since yesterday. the bay/marsh water is just piling up against the bulkhead & spilling over. it's obviously windy, but nothing crazy yet...off to work at 10 to finish securing the shop.
If the current wasn't sucking so hard here in Daytona Beach, I'd be all over it!!!! Supposed to clean up this afternnoon through Wednesday.........but I hate waiting......
I think the clean up will be faster than what SI has predicted. It almost always is for these ones that run up the coast. But to my Mid-Atlantic and NE posters, stay safe. Hopefully this storm just becomes an inconvenience and nothing more for yall
Oh yeah Al Roker in Asbury NJ - tide this am was just 10 feet from the boardwalk and the storm is hundreds of miles away... not good!
I don't know if anyone else is witnessing this but some squid just hopped in at croatan with a little foam boogie board strapped to his wrist;in boardies; getting sucked out... 3 people going in after him http://www.surfline.com/surf-report/croatan-pendelton_5208/
