has anyone been arrested in a wetsuit?
I have. Its the worst **** ever. Especially if you don't have shoes on or any clothes. It's even worst when the cop doesn't give you a towel or any socks. Trust me, socks come in handy after being arrested in a wetsuit.
After you leave the precinct, you got to wait for about 24 hours before seeing a judge. 24 hours of hell. Freezing, semi wet hell. And you can't take the wetsuit off or anyone in the holding cell sees your wee wee. When you want to sleep, you don't have a pillow. maybe someone that's nice will let you borrow there shirt to rest your head, but don't count on it.
This has happened to me three times.

Today at Lido west..was best session I've had since last sept during the quicksilver contest. Was perfect 4 wave sets winds were on it heavy but all offshore so it kept it so controlled and clean.

Yeah, but you're missing the point that a State of Emergency was declared in NY by the governor -- which means that the cops can pretty much tell you to do whatever they think is necessary. These laws are vague enough so that, "I told you not to stand there, but you're still there." becomes grounds for an arrest. Getting pinched when it's not a State of Emergency means that there are actual public employees to process your arrest.

I don't know where you were looking, but there were some really nice waves today in NY. But not anymore... and I didn't see anyone telling me not to go in.

Someone said the same thing in sea bright today , "oh i can surf" ... coast guard ended up having to rescue him. I heard they rescued someone in PP too. If the storm hasn't hit you yet use your time wisely and prepare, or help someone else prepare. If its not hitting you, be smart - if its 10+ feet and hurricane conditions... just stay out. it's not worth it. don't mess with nature, its been around much longer then you and can snap your spine in half like a twig. So chill. No one likes "that guy" and your gonna get yourself into some serious stuff. (if its that big with bad conditions)

Same in southern R.I. Found a spot with surprisingly clean conditions yesterday.
