    Sandy Hook @ 12 PM 10/29

There was a steady stream of people crossing the bridge until about 2 PM

Most waves were OH to double, some triple OH further out.

I heard a rumor that the new bridge at Indian River Inlet, DE was wrecked. Anybody hear about this?

Will try to take more pics as the height of the storm comes onshore, but visibility has done to sh*t. Next set of pics probably will be from tomorrow morning.

man why are all the cops in suffolk such grade a pr!cks. Still can't get to dune road or cupsogue beach. Everything shut down. I didn't see a cop car so decided to walk over the bridge and was turned away. After the $500 ticket, don't want to risk arrest or worst.

Atlantic City, NJ has just smashed its barometric pressure record of 960mb set in March, 1932. The pressure there right now is 954mb and falling.

bridge is still standing....but the surrounding area is a mess.

    Damn guys. GREAT updates!

Grantlee- the long lasting effects after these storms range from torn up beaches, ocean front homes destroyed, boardwalks and businesses destroyed, overall morale of the town killed.

    Tyrone-JEB Little Creek Ft. Story

VB UPDATE: AI surfed croatan specifically along the camp pendleton base from about 2pm-dark. Started off large and in charge with 6-8ft occ 10ft bombs with hard offshores. A lot of people were actually making the drops despite the hard winds. there were a few rights but mainly lefts due to the north in the wnw winds. the size dropped pretty durastically(as expected) over just a few hours. when i left it was around chest high with occ shoulder sets. the rain has pretty much subsided, and the winds have gone down a little bit. there is moderate flooding in VB but its worse in other areas like Norfolk. I live in the hilltop area and never lost power.

I really wish you all in the dirty jerz the best of luck. I heard ocnj is looking terrible. hopefully njsurfer42 can give us an update soon

screw the city of VB!! super i was also at croatan from 3-dark (got a bunch of good waves despite the winds) and i parked in the municipal lot. Those asshole locked me and like thirty other cars in that lot for at least a half hour. There were men, women, and children in there and they locked the f'in gate on all of us until some ahole cop showed up, yelled at us, and then let us out. can't believe they would lock the gate on so many people in a hurricane and cold weather. freaking dicheads...
I didnt lose power here down at the oceanfront either surprisingly.

Hanna - that's an interesting way to look at it. I don't know if you are aware but there is no money. It is all on credit, on debt to foreign countries expected to be payed off with interest with our competitive standing in the future world market... We are 16+trillion and growing in debt and could mimic a European bankruptcy crisis in the near future. Not trying to throw this thread off, but the best thing to come out of this is waves for the minority we are part of in these circumstances. I hope to get out there again Friday after work in RI!

    Edit: insane picture above...
