    Hawaii has a nasty attitude or maybe it was the nasty attitude east coasters I went to Hawaii with that turned me off to the place. If I ever do go back there, I'll try my best to find some spots where people have a mellow humble vibe.

    amazing photos. Props to the fellas that charged it.

    BTW: if you give respect in Hawaii they usually give it right back. I am haole (of course) and travel there most winters and have never had a problem. I don't surf pipe or the other really crowded and crazy spots but never had an issue. Last year I sat patiently for so long at a popular break that a local had me follow him to the peak and his boyz gave me the best wave I had last year.
