Hey guys I am getting a set of fins for swimming season this winter but I also need fins for bodyboarding during the summer. Will they work for both? The yellow and blue churchills

I hear they are good for bodyboarding. Aussies definatley love them. Although i still stick with vipers (originals). I dont know about swimming.

I just bought a pair of Churchills a few weeks back. I ripped one already on some reef rock and one got ripped off last week in some heavy whitewater. I grew up wearing Churchill and I'm not sure I will get another pair. Nothing has lasted as long as my Bluntcuts.

You should get a separate set of fins for swim practice. I used mostly those medium length rubber fins with a closed heel foot pocket (rather than heel strap). FINIS or Speedo ones would work fine. The advantages they offer for pool training over something like a Churchill Makapuu are that they flex better for pushing off walls, they don't flare out like a dolphin tail, so they don't catch on the laneline during circle swimming, and they have greater surface area so they will build more strength and flexibility in your quads and ankles. If money were no consideration, you might look at Force Fins - I tried these once and they remain the most comfortable fin I've ever tried, but they cost about 300% of what I would ever spend on fins. For bodyboarding, I like my Churchill Makapuus. They are shorter, stiffer and require a higher kick-turnover than the training fins, but offer more agility and control in surf. You don't need that agility for cranking out yardage and you will sacrifice speed if you train with surf fins.

You're lucky. Always wanted to score one but it's kinda rare from where I live.
