Me and my buddies are going to Nicaragua in December and need some advice on a board bag. There will be 4 of us and we all ride about the same size 5'11-6'2. How thick should the bag be/length/cost

    thanks

get a 6'4 bag or bigger for extra room for packing materials... maybe a 6'6 if your taking 6'2s

use pipe insulation from the hardware store to wrap your rails of the board the whole way around to protect it- thats why you need extra room. '

it cost alot... 100 a board at least

No not at all we also make padded travel bags. We can make board socks lined with 3mm padding but like I said we also make padded travel bags.

    cheers

This is one of our 10mm padded travel bags. Rust free zip, lined with gortex and carry strap.

Your not wrong!! The first bag I made has been on 8 trips (5 long haul) and so far it still is good with no problems for the board and that's what we based this bag on. So we aint doing to bad but I totally agree with you there, even the monkey attack bit!

if your living in squan- make sure to stop by inlet outlet- i have gotten a bag there once for like 35 bucks on a sidewalk sale not even a year ago... last years model but still awesome. they might have some discounted after black friday- idk... i got a dakine and it seems better then fcs, but just my opinion- but thats just a single board bag- if your thinking of a coffin bag for all 4 it will probably run you 100 bucks.

The bag in the pic here does look sweet tho! I do like the goretex idea- so it will breath and be waterproof! too many of my old bags have been filled with mold due to moisture

pipe insulation plus curved ridged cardboard (cylinder thats split in 2 down the middle) over the insulation works good. also, there're lots of guys making good custom bags- vitamin blue, air wave, wave tribe to name a few.
