ok thanks im going to check that out but i still have 3 weeks till I'm in puerto rico.Just a few other questions i have, 1)ive never surfed anything beside nj and ny so i dont know what to expect with surfing a reef and what to do and not to do and if i should bring booties or not or just rashguard and shorts since its warm weather. 2) i have a bunch of other beaches nearby san juan/ in puerto rico and im curious if you know them or recommend and of those while im there to check out within a 30 min MAX car ride - La Ocho, Fiji, Sheraton, La bomba, Islitas, Chatarras, El unico, aviones, tacones, Pine grove, Punta las Marias, Caballos, Cochino, Kikita beach, Las pasas, La peinilla. If any of those aren't in san juan then tell me so i can cross those off a list i have of beaches surfable in san juan puerto rico. 3) i dont care if there kinda crowded because then i can talk to locals for some advice instead of being alone and not know how to surf a totally different place than I've surf since im used to sandy beach breaks. 4) if you have every surfed any of these islands i will be also visiting and if you can tell me some information about surfing whether there is or not there is so i shouldnt waste my time researching about it i would appreciate it tremendously- Philipsburg, Netherlands Antilles, St Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Samana, Dominican Republic.
Wherever you are I pray surf be with you, wherever you go, I pray surf to surround you. Whatever you do, I pray surf to fill your heart because you deserve every good surf session mother ocean can hold. Lets us pray for waves!
Was hoping to see maybe a 1.5 foot bump so i could paddle out on my log and get rid of some anxiety. I was extremely disappointed.
Yeah, not much happening out there this week. Maybe this weekend. I would just like to see some 1-2 ft action.
That's why Duck season is during the winter! Can't surf, might as well well go fire off a few rounds over the bay!
whaat? no surf in the winter? theres more surf in the winter because of storms then the summer start september and october there is always a swell coming in and the winter is a storm season which brings great swells. but that doesnt mean surf every day like hawaii, ny and nj is much different
Word man... Sh*t sucks just got a new lost mini driver too and want to take her out, anxiety is building! Wish I was going on a trip...Hope you get some gnarly barrels man!
Get a carver skateboard with the C7 truck.. finally got my hands on one (the resin) and it is great for these flat spells..
Get a deal on living social for a massage (from a hotty) because we aren't getting stress relief from the surf... Looky -looky what I just saw.. Could be a good south swell.. Weds. High of 52F. Breezy. Winds from the South at 10 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 30%. Wednesday Night Partly cloudy with rain. Fog overnight. Low of 43F. Windy. Winds from the SSW at 30 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 80% with rainfall amounts near 1.4 in. possible. Thursday Overcast. High of 52F. Breezy. Winds from the WNW at 15 to 25 mph.
looks like were going to go another week of flat surf Swellinfo and Magicseaweed both say flat but surfline says that wednesday is going to be 2-3 and thursday like 3-4ft and friday 2-3. i dont know if theres a swell coming but we would know by now from swellinfo and looks like surfline didnt update they forecast in a few days and will change it to flat.
Spent the holiday week surfing waist-to-shoulder high, meaty waves in Punta de Mita area, and came back to this crap. If I had any idea it was going to be this bad I would have cancelled my ticket and found a way to stay in Mexico for another week
Volunteered to go to California on business for 10 weeks. My phone hasn't rang yet but they usually let you know these things last minute. I forgot how much I hate winter here during flat spells.
Why is it so flat? Even in the summer we had knee high swells, and everyone always told me hurricane season and winter are the best times to go surfing on the east coast(I am new here). Is it because Sandy destroyed the breaks or something? It's gulf-level flat.
"It's as flat as a witches tit!" The surf and atmosphere has dropped and has become boring! This Surf is as flat as a witches tit! And that "biatch" is pretty flat!
No, 10'/20sec. Might as well pick a Superbowl winner, too. Don't you know every time someone mentions a bump in the 14 day forecast or something it just declines the chances of having any waves at all. No to mention it takes away opportunity for surprise and near misses later. When I open the forecast and see swell 7 days out, I break into light sweat, swallow, slowly turn around making sure no one else saw what I just did and quickly put the screen away. Then, only once a day I look a the forecast (once, not twice! That's crucial if the stars are to line up and swell works) and not say a word to anyone. Ideally, not look at the forum either and read the 'waxing my gun' and 'firing up the jet ski' posts. Then when something does show up, I get out, stay in as long as I can and tell people regardless of how it was that it was 'kinda good' and that 'we should be having something coming soon'. I advise you to do the same and not look into next f$%^& Sunday.
