Maybe you could get a little money to report on the daily conditions, or start taking pictures and make a sweet calendar with "the best of the last 365 days, you wish you were here" theme to sell. You might be able to get local shops to sell it for you for the good cause. This would only be peanuts compared to the big ideas going on here, so hopefully someone hooks you up with some really great advice. Good luck!

That's a GREAT idea! Not peanuts. He will need a print shop to help with cost......that's a good starting point.

Kure, good on you man! I think it's awesome and I'm sure you have some days when it would be real tempting just to skip it (only one day right). Keep it up!

I like the end of the year thing. You should share what you are doing with Trace Adkins, he is a huge wounded warriors supporter. Guy has a big heart...heck he might like what your doing so much that he'll put on a concert for your grand finale!!

Rip this douche all you want, but no need to call an entire state a dump (though an extremely large portion is a dump). There's some beautiful area's as well...

Did you ever hear that saying, "If you don't have anything good to say, then STFU"?
Oh, and I'll bet every single dime I own you haven't surfed everyday for 5 years. Beat it troll!

Good on you, Kure! Hope you raise a lot for the charity.

Awesome bro. Way to serve your fellow citizens. What do you do on the flat days and victory at sea days?

Primo, please don't call the place I grew up a dump. Much of the state is actually very nice to look at. I'd be glad to post a couple of my pre-Sandy photos from my neighborhood to confirm that if you need.

Or flat days I just wait till dead low tide. There's always something at low tide.
Victory at sea days are the worst. I surf a 8 footer most times so its hard to duck dive. I just keep paddling until I can get far enough out to get into one. I've had some miserable miserable days during strong winds....

Kurebeachsurfer - I like your mindset - surf everyday and help a lot of people. I have a son on the autism spectrum. I've been involved in fundraising and have formed a charity with my wife and our son's swim instructor. Here's my two cents. Make it clear you are a charity stating your 503 (C) status, if you're not a charity yourself, use something like firstgiving or provide a link to the charity. Be clear who you are raising money for. There must be 20 autism charities alone. Surfer's Healing ties into what you're doing. There's probably a local charity associated with Surfer's Healing etc.
Our charity is Kells Kids - we raise money for a scholorship fund to teach autistic and special needs kids how to swim. We also sponsor SUP events and races for the parents. FYI - Children with autism are likely to have a wondering incident where drowning is a strong possibility.

    Keep up the great work!

    Best of luck!
few people can say they've surfed every day for a year.
sounds like the ultimate new years resolution.

The guy with the crazy long surf streak mentioned in the OP is Dale Webster from Sonoma County.

kurebeach - you rock for doing this. Best of luck to you and keep going.

I like your cause too. Pretty cool! Keep going for it. The immature little putz from Jerz pretty well outed himself as an idiot the moment he typed in "Brah". What are you, kid? An overweight Hawaiian with tribal tats? Doubt it. Brah....What a knob gobbler. I hope you don't say that out loud in public.
