i normally go to belmar but i hear the cops are giving out tickets if you surf. Where around that area is it ok?
They are giving tickets almost everywhere in Jersey. Just look for a huge crowd and go there. If you see a few guys out at a jetty, don't go there since they are probably surfer cops.
I live in Squan but have been up at school in RI. Since when have they been giving tickets out for surfing and why? Im very confused about what law or ordinance you would be breaking.
Many beaches still closed due to Sandy. Idk anyone who has gotten a ticket though here in Monmouth County
Not true at all. You can surf anywhere besides Belmar in Monmouth County without any hassle. You can even walk your dogs on the beach and you wont have to worry about a ticket. As for the surf, it's way smaller than predicted and the wind blew most the swell out to sea. I'd get on it now if you wana get it decent
We will have fun despite the heavy offshore wind because there's tubes and there hasn't been much lately. Sure I wish the wind was 5-10 but I can't control it. It's better then work or flatness. Seaside Heights and Seaside Park are a No Go by the way. It's lame but, just call the police where you want to surf and ask.
