Does anyone from the area know if they have been recently replenishing the beach in front of pier village, right in front of Serena and the Avenue? It just seemed like the sand bar was a lot higher there today than during the Bertha Swells and I doubt that would have happened so quick if it were natural, but I'm just guessing. I imagine they might be doing some late night sand dumping but I don't know. I give Pier village a couple of years. Any decent storm off shore digs the beach out right up to the staircase to the resteraunts as it is so imagine what's gonna happen when a category two brushes the coast. Not to mention those condos look rickety to begin with. They shouldn't have built where the old pier burnt down, bad Karma if you ask me...
nah bro i live there year round actually all the other beaches died wave wise and pier village and the pit have been great for waves the have been building walls in front of sirena instead of pumping it out because its become so popular (for bennys) to surf. but i totally agree they shouldn't have built that close realllly bad idea and when was that picture taken?
I took that picture Monday. I've attached more pics from that day that might give some perspective of "the pit." I was testing a new camera and teaching an actress, whose a natural in my opinion, the basics, the zoom sucks I know but ya, it's shallow as **** now nearer the break and three of the six pics show that. You sure they ain't sneaking tractors on the beach at night because capitalists are shady. They had to be dumping sand recently because I need an excuse for why I hurt my back that day when I bailed on a ride only to realize the shelf drop was completely different then it was in May and especially during the Bertha swells, it surprised me and didn't brace for it properly and definitely felt it the next day and still. I'm heading to the outer banks now with aches and pains and am thinking about suing Long Branch. JK, but if they are replenishing they should be posting signs so surfers will know the topography of the bottom has changed, or maybe I should just walk in next time rather than jump on my board and paddle out thinking conditions haven't changed. The camera is new too, a waterproof, so if anyone wants to bust my balls about it's quality go right ahead because I don't like the clarity either...
