Wow rid that is a beautiful board! I would offer to buy it but I don't have an extra $475,00 lying around, lol.
HAHA for members of swellinfo the price is only $100,000! I mean I have to eat right. The board is 7' x 20.5" x 2.25" Weighs about 14lbs. I put a double concave into the tail just to see if I could do it. Its really not too difficult to do if you engineer it correctly.
http://akushaper.com/ An amazing free tool for board design. If you are lucky enough to have access to a cnc router it can produce file for a router.
That was good. Now, if I only had the power to know what tomorrow's closing prices of stocks are today...
Wow Roy apparently it's not only your thoughts on surfboard design that have lost complete touch with reality.
Roy you are a fraud plain and simple. A shameless self promoter and a true sell out. You talk about the true nature of surfing and whatnot yet you charge $400K for a board. If your boards are so superior and ride like nothing else and you love surfing so much why not share your boards with the entire surfing community and not just the likes of Donald Trump. Oh yeah you could design your boards on AKU as well. Although it is very useful for creating boards using the fishbone method it does not have to be used in that manner.
LOL, this is what I was trying to make you do Roy. You're just like every other salesman... a money hungry scam artist. Joel Tudor rides with style and power on LongBoards... you look like you're getting ready to squatt and drop a duece on your frankenstien board. do you think that Tudor's style is a handicap, as you mentioned style is a handicap...
This guy is a joke. Go on his site he has a board that is listed for $1.3 million USD. I would like to meet the type of clown who buys this guys stuff.
ya RID that's beautiful! thanks for the advice! are you talking about goosepoint lumber in nh? that's where i got the paulownia from. i'm almost scared to use it on my first build b/c it was so expensive
Check out http://www.unclehildes.com/ in Seabrook. they have a couple other locations but that I the one I go to. The cedar decking is real cheap. you will have to resaw it down to 1/4" thick or so on a table saw and you will also have to sift through a decent amount of boards to find the ones you want but you will also be able to get enough wood for your deck bottom and rails for about $20-$30. I would say make your fist board with cedar and save the Paulownia once you get the hang of it. Red Cedar decking 1" thick is .99 cents per linear foot!
incorrect! roy stuart's boards are superior! this has been proven many times! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a demo board travelling the globe and also have plans and kitsets available for the home builder, I spend many hours helping people to build these. There is also the possibility of mass produced ( foam and glass) versions becoming available, I can't give more details at present. I find your emotional reaction to price to be ridiculous, and remind you that this thread is about my surfboard designs, not marketing. By the way AKU is unsuitable for my designs as it cannot produce the profile, rocker, or planshapes correctly. .
