Trials ran today and the waiting period starts tomorrow.

There's a swell filling in later in the week, not sure if they are even going to try to run any heats tomorrow.

Time difference: 8 am there = 5 pm EST, plus they are a day ahead of us.

Women on HOLD. Possible start around 8pm EST.

They're running the Grom Search right now. Fairly entertaining.

    Oh, but he does....

Point Break 2 went straight to vhs. You might find it in the "where are they now" section at your local video store.

Conditions aren't as clean as yesterday but waves are bigger (8-10') and they're already 1/2 way through Men's rounds 2. Round 3 to follow.

Getting ready to finish Men's Round 3 then to the Women's final and who knows after that.

The swell is fading, but it's looking perfect right now!

    carissa moore ftw!

2 in a row for her now, i believe...& both over tyler wright. i know a lot of people don't give 2 craps about the women's tour, but w/ tyler's win at snapper, this could be shaping up to be an interesting/close battle for the title. steph gilmore seems to be kinda not interested this year.

...and adriano wins. does anyone else feel that nat young was underscored a bit on his second (?) wave...the 8.33? would rather have seen young take the win, but i will freely admit that i am highly biased against the brazzo contingent on the tour. not a fan of their surfing in any way, shape, or form.

He definitely got underscored. I think Adriano got way too much praise for average surfing. Every guy in the event was surfing just as good. He didn't do anything spectacular in my opinion. Nat's blow tail was niiiiice

Nat would've won but he messed up that finishing turn.. 1 too many check turns. I would've rather seen him win tho

Yeah, ADS is and excitable little crab. Nice to see him get a win, though. Seems he's done some good work on his attitude since last year, so I'm not too upset about it. And like Swello said, one too many check turns for Natty.

Women's title race is definitely going to be banging. I really hope they lock down at least one of the rumored possible new events for the Women.

What a great event. The camera angles are great for watching the swell at Bells! Felt like the commentators made light of the final a bit. I was rooting for Nat Young all the way as a fellow American and goofy-footer. The final could have gone either way. You can't deny the passion and the work ethic of Adriano. That goes for the Brazilian contingent on the whole in fact, and their surfing collectively has become more fluid. Polarizing group for sure.

i remember watching the women like 5 years ago.... and then you look at them now. and it seems like there are a good handful and growing, which are surfing like the guys. they seem to have lost that real stiff style. its awesome to see and exciting to watch. should be an exciting tour for both the guys and girls.

I think the best surfer of the event was Jordy by far, his turns were so smooth and effortless. Adriano was ripping for sure but he surfs so aggressively, like he is always pushing as hard as he can, pumping and bouncing around like crazy. Jordy just cruises, you almost never saw him pump. I guess I just prefer the more stylish aspects of his surfing, just going with what the wave offers, not forcing anything. I was pulling for him but oh well.
