Anyone paddling out tomorrow or Friday on Hilton Head? I plan to try and hit it tomorrow in the early afternoon as the swell builds and the tide comes back up. Hopefully the wind projections are wrong and it will clean up... Im also going to go out Friday morning. Looks like the swell period increase a few seconds and the conditions Friday should be better. Wind turns HARD offshore.

Anyway, ill be out there, just seeing if anyone else was giving it a go...

Don't be surprised if that forecast changes again before Friday. I have another more reliable wind forecasting site showing it switching late Thursday night and offshore all Friday morning. It all just depends on the movement, location and timing of that low P which is very difficult to forecast accurately.

Im not bashing swellinfo, I live by this site but they specialize in wave forecasting, this site is mainly wind and very accurate.

Yeah, last sunday the system passed through about 6 hours early and as soon as it cleared the island, the wind went offshore about 10 hours ahead of schedule... hoping for more of the same... Im thinking offshore mid afternoon thursday, then a clean up friday with light offshore as opposed to the 20+mph that is predicted... I have really never witnessed strong morning winds like that here early in the morning in the 6 months ive lived here.... Its always predicted, but I look outside and the flags on the golf course outside my window are laying dead with light breeze.

Yeah, my guess is that it will be trashed during the major swell times, but there may be some clean up stuff.

Yes, I use Wind Alert also, definitely more reliable on the wind part, Swellinfo for swell and wind alert for wind has been my forecast combo working well for me to trek to Folly, I'll be there Friday morn if forecast holds.

Just as expected. Rain and storm passed at about 3pm, wind died. From 3-6:30pm was really fun. Bigger with the high tide. South current. Best waves were down around the inlet/jetty. Rights lined up, was able to get 2-3 turns on the rights. The lefts were a bit steeper and shorter, but still fun.... handful of guys were out. Tomorrow should be a bit smaller but even cleaner. Had a handful of rights that were keepers.

It looked pretty messy out here. Folly had semi clean, but a lot of closeouts. Today should be good.

Rain has been on it on and off all morning. I checked the surf when it cleared up for an hour. It was clean but running about waist high at low tide. Glad I charged it yesterday when I did. There are still leftovers but its cold and raining until later this afternoon. Forecast is showing waist high and semi clean for a few days this week. Better weather. Long boarding time. Very stoked to get out yesterday and have some clean hits on those backside right handers. Went with no leash to make it interesting, fun fun fun

Yeah, life of an east coast surfer, you have to play weatherman half the time. I'm sitting here at the parking lot waiting for the wind to switch after the rain passes
