Im going to be heading down to Frisco this weekend. Swell looks like its going to be sick Only problem is, Im going to be solo. I've spent time surfing solo before, but never in overhead surf. Im a little worried because I havent been in the water all winter, even though im in shape (stayed in the gym and been running). Anyone else heading down to Frisco or the surrounding area? Parking at the pear? Maybe car pool?
i might be at the pier, but if the forcast changes which it has been known to do. Im just going to stay north maybe avalon pier and paddle out there with some friends
ill be down there tomorrow. im going with a friend or two so i dont know if we are gonna have room but we will probably end up going north of the pier to park and see where we go from there. if i had a phone id give you a ring. as for the not being in the water all winter, doesnt matter how fit you are, if you havent been paddling out, you're gonna be tired. especially out at frisco where it breaks out 100+ yds. ive been going all winter and its gonna be a hell of a paddle (most likely). do it though. you wont regret it
I might make the drive down solo as well, debating skipping work. Im really hoping that the forecast changes for va beach so i dont have to drive. Whens everyone gonna head down? friday or saturday? thoughts on corolla?
Ill be arriving in the hatteras area ab 1300 hrs (1 PM). Send me a message on here if yall do end up going down, I can send yall my number if you want to meet up. As of right now, pretty much anything NOT facing south (i.e. VA Beach, Corolla, anything North of Hatteras) looks like its going to be blown out from the winds and the swell wont be in the right direction so messy or unfavorable conditions. I guess my main concern was just being alone in the water, out of shape. And I havent been to Hatteras since before the shark attacks a few years ago so I was feeling nervous. Water temps mid to upper 40's depending on where you look online. Hope to see yall out there!
