I have a Super that's pretty much that exact design except a little longer, but it has FCS. I ride it with pc-5 in the front and gx-q in the trailers. My buddy got a set of the Dane Reynolds quads for his Fark and they seem to work great. Maybe go that direction? Not a real similar comparison in board design but they seemed to make it more lively and fast. They're bamboo laminate so they have some good flex/snap incorporated in them too.

I also meant to say something else about the board design: The diamond tail with deep channels tracks really straight, but it's fast. I tried mine with the Simon Anderson pc-5, which have a lot of drive and not so much release, and it was just too hard to turn quickly on anything under chest high. I only use them in that board if it's meaty. Go for something that's going to give you some pivot.

I use futures and ride quads almost exclusively. I've had great success with fam fronts and the 375 quad rears (this was for a McKee set-up). I'm partial though to blackstix and like the vector foil. Given your weight I'd opt for a smaller fin set-up...especially with the channels. Also, used the rasta quads and liked them...would probably suit you...have you looked on the future site given ur weight?

    Earl...where you at...????

    Here, brother...

I'd advise that you start with the fins you have, or at least fins that are familiar to you. Chances are, what you're currently riding is radically different from that board, and that change is big enough for now. It's a six channel, but the channels are subtle... shallow and without crisp edges, toed in to sync with the fins, both fronts and rears. So while they will add drive, they will not be tracky. They will not act as fins, but will help direct water to flow with the rocker, template, and bottom contours, and facilitate fin lift. Once you've ridden it a few times, and start to get used to the board, THEN play with fins... or not.

If you don't have a quad set, and must buy new fins for the board, consider test driving first. If you cant, think about downsizing fin base compared to your current thruster fins. Slightly shorter base for the fronts, and slightly smaller rears than fronts. A smaller template all around is also not a mistake.

I was looking at that board for months, it looks like a sweet ride. I would love to hear how it works out for ya. I never surfed a board with those channels before.

i have a pair of future scimatar pivot rears. they have no rake sit further back and the cant warps out dramatically from the middle of the fin. i havn't used them yet. they have a 1/4 inch base and i only have one board that they would fit in.

any of you guys familiar with these?

Get the rastas. I use them in multiple boards and they are a dream. I also have mayhems in my one board with FCS plugs. Im not positive they are the same fin with future but I really like them too. I ride quads 99% of the time.
