As soon as we get some waves in South Carolina I will be posting a detailed ride report. Also if anyone in this forum gets a chance to meet up with me and ride the board I will encourage them to post there experience on the board. I will also upload some more pictures shortly.
Lets keep this thread clean and tidy. No bashing no bull sh... Just topic related discussion.

A Roy Stewart inspired longboard. I started this new thread because the other one got trashed by b.s.

Steve let me ask you, and this is a real question.. Are you studying how Roy stands on his boards? From what I understand from Roy's posts and vids, you won't be able to surf it using a traditional surf stance.

Ok please report back after the surf.

Yes I have been studying it very closely. Apparently every board has its sweet spot. And I expect mine to have one too. I will balance the board to find a center of gravity and I will mark it. All good?

For your information: any stance can be used, I use both a relatively forward stance and a sideways stance. My stance is as traditional as any other, and it's not uncommon at present either.

The key is to work within the 'sweet' area, which is more concentrated and central than on mainstream longboards. Longer heavier boards which are well balanced having a more central riding position tend to favour a narrow stance also.

Steve you'll find your own way, if your current methods need to change slightly that will happen naturally and you won't necessarily stand the way I do. I've seen a lot of people ride the Ghost 13 which is a similar board and there were different styles used.

The worst form of torture is having this board sitting in my living room and the ocean is flat! I'm going nuts!

The board was inspired by Roy Stewart. I built the board myself over a three month period.

Steve, I asked before but don't remember seeing a reply... does the board have any flex to it or is it stiff?

My apologies Mfitz73.Yes the board does have flex. I have had the board turned upside down and tried to flex it. It's like a tight spring. But beside the flex. I was running the vacuum in the workshop next to the board and the board hummed with a steady resonance like a plucked piano string. It was amazing.
