there's an obvious flat spell cause everyone has nothing better to do then sit here and talk smack about everyone's home/favorite break, but truth be told herring point can be one of the better breaks in dela-WHERE, "with" the right swell and winds you can get a good take off with a respectable barrel section into a longer section for doing what ever your skill level allows you, and if it's a set wave you usually get another barrel section into a close out on the beach 300 "YARDS" down the line.
Learn how to put a sentence together bra. And once you've figured out how to do that, be sure to edit your valuable input so it makes sense to me and the other articulate east coast surfers. Until you have done this, everything you post on this forum is null and void.
the REAL hollister little news flash for all the hollister loving people out there before you say something about hollister california, maybe you should learn where in california it is its about 2 1/2 hours from the ocean. not a break, the entire ocean i use to live out in cali and passed it on my way to tahoe after stopping in monterey just a nice fun fact for everyone
Well, the summer is upon us and the beloved naval jetty is bound to soon be choke with newbies/wannabes/summer bears/happy-go-lucky-were-on-vaca-lets-try-surfing. There's a word I could have used to describe all those but... Anyway, just wanted to invite everybody down to the jetty for some fun this summer. Bring the kids and the wavejets but at least pick up your trash when you leave. Everybody play nice and have fun and keep it real. Don't drop in, vibe, paddle around/under, name call, or any of that. This year we have implemented a take-number system so you know when to paddle for a wave. Pennsylvanians, surf shop owners, pro rippers, and 2 year olds all have the same priority. Bring your SUP, hand plane, kayak, jet ski for tow ins, laird hydro foil thing, McDonald's tray, and rollerblades cuz its gonna be a non-stop party. Oc ultra-rippers and new jersey awesome dudes can come and take over and we will take the leftovers when they leave. Bring your cameras so you can "get the shot" to boost your photog carreer and move to Hawaii brah. I can't wait for the first big summer swell to bring us all together back as one big happy family! Cheers...
You people who come from different states to surf Delaware on a solid swell are a bunch of kooks you guys show no respect coming over here dropping in and thinking you guys own the place. Don't come around here
I forgot to mention that you can share a wave with the singer from midnight oil. I think his name is nathanial... Don't forget though, this is the official home break of the Annapolis surf club so don't hassle those doods...
Not sure what you guys are considering "here" and in terms of size, but the March 8/9 swell was pretty solid up north IMO.
There won't be another decent swell until late July/August, at the earliest....Let the summer crowd take over the short period wind swell slop.
I agree the place isn't what it used to be back in the day when you were dodging stumps and not chumps. I stopped surfing the jetty after i broke my ankle there. I drive the extra hour for pure emptyness.
Yes, please stay away from the Jetty. Especially the d-bag that was out of position all day, took a board to the face and is now pressing assault charges. Get help, dude.
