So, how are you west floridians holding up with this mega dose of swell. Too busy surfing to chime in?
arrrrrggghhhh..... work first, surf second........... one of the hardest things in the world to do... i say work but watching this swell from my desk isn't really working now is it. chest high st. pete and calling.
i know the pain... I've been there. It is one of the hardest parts of being a surfer to have obligations while the surf is htting. I hope you can rush from the desk and catch some fun ones before dark!
luckily my boss decided he wants some time off.. so we are closing tomorrow!!! WOOOHOO. I'll probably be heading down to anna maria...
I think im gonna head to clearwater saturday, never surfed the gulf coast before, any pointers? Looking for a hollow dumping bodyboard type break with offshore winds shouldn't be that hard to find
Just got back from...well I guess it's not a secret any longer...I'll just say Venicio! Totally baked! Wave faces 8', lefts mainly, catching 'em way out to the beeach on LB. SB was okay, but way too crowded for the SB. As a matter of fact...can we get some mo' kooks up in here without leashes please? I mean WTF! 100 guys out in a small area, and some kook gonna not be wearing a leash. Just glad it wasn't my board. Remember ya'll, we gotta paddle through them kooks to get back to the real waves! Peace...
Just got back from a sweet sesh in "North Pinellas" (nod nod wink wink). The best waves I've seen here so far. Ride after ride after ride.... Looks like we've got a couple more days of it?? Incredible. Smells like - victory. Peace Y'all! - one freakin happy ape!!
come on fellas the help the help i'll help you if your ever in the outer banks come onnnnn babyyyyy private message a pal never been to the gulf before
well, isurfed the biggest waves i've ever seen on the gulf coast, at a 'not so secret' spot in panama city... with 25 other people. (NOT crowded at all, considering last week i tried to count how many were out and lost count around 130 people.) it was the definition of epic.
check out gulfster.com if you havent already they have some really good pics from yesterday.. slabby looking right barrels at a spot i wish i was at. fun surf today got super glassy before dark. incoming tide seemed to get kicken just as the sun set with a few head+ waes. should still be a solid swell tommorow
here's a few pics some dude took from a boat in the channel, it was thumpin' for sure. http://www.revelationproductions.net/indexfiles/Sept11-08.html
