So here comes Andrea and the stoke is on. My son insists its time to ditch his soft top. I say are you sure? Yep, hes sure. 7 years old and going down the line "Zig Zagging" as he said. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud as hell.

This was his second session with Andrea. We scored about the same waves pre storm on Monday. I regretted not getting some pics so when we went back out last night (6-7-13), I made sure to take his mom and big brother along to get some documentation. We have video too but the dam disc keeps saying corrupt. Hopefully I will get the video straightened out and post to youtube or something. Of course I was pushing him in but now I'm getting him in the habit of paddling while I push him so eventually he can catch them on his own. Thanks for all the encouragement. I just showed him all this and hes STOKED!

I agree with everyone - really rad from the grom. Besides his surfing, looks like he's quite stylish too. The 12 year old babes must be lining up.

All very cool. With Father's Day this weekend, I say someone start a thread, "Post Your Groms ". A second thread could be "Post your Pops" to share and perpetuate the Father/Child stoke!

Too funny. Yeah we parents need to remember to quit butting in so much and let them have fun first.

Well.. it speaks a lot about human nature since most of us don't like being told what to do. One of the challenges of parenting is how to instruct without exasperating them. I think staying positive and being encouraging goes a long way.

Couldn't agree more. As it is now, my girls are always begging me to take them surfing. If it ever becomes me begging them to come surfing, time to change the tactics.

North side of middle jetty. It is great on a low tide for groms. This is his 3rd year as I started him when he was 5. Big guy is over his foamie and now calls it a practice board for the pool sessions.
