Youre right. posting pics with minimal foreground/background firing is going to lead to overcrowding.

wind and swell direction, work and fickleness will probably keep the lesser known spots from ever getting over run.

Inevitable that almost every post will turn into some level of debate. Regardless, great post. Love to hear about a great "surprise" session.

    Attention Rhode Island people:

Please note the irony. Aboot two months ago a thread was posted questioning why New Jersey has gained so much attention and whether it is overhyped. The author was(is) from Rhode Island.

Now, at least on this site, Rhode Island is getting mucho attention - pictures and raging supportive testimonials. You know Skippy, age 14 and Sea Girt, NJ resident is starting to froth. Don't be surprised if him and many other frothers ax their parents to take a trip to Rhode Island during some upcoming swell.

Rhode Island is the new Jersey. Be careful of what you wish. Attention can be a double-edged sword. I know that many Rhode Island surfers probably seek attention considering their state only exists as a measure to compare the size of other landmasses(The Onion, volume unknown), as in Country X is only the size of Rhode Island.......this land mass is so large you could fit ten Rhode Islands in it...........

Oh hey, are you Rhode Island guys still doing that Naragansett vs Newport thang? Are there still completely non-threatening dudes trying to act all Silver Strand and stuff? That was pretty funny. Is that Peter Pan dude still around? Does Sid Abruzzi just have a big ego or is he legitimately delusional?

I'm not being wise, I'm just curious.

Ha Peter Pan is around and well, mostly SUPing his way through the lineup these days, sometimes you'll see him on a log (Bic, of course). Still owns a shop in town too. Pretty nice guy - my only real conversations with him were years and years ago when I was a grom and learning to surf, he'd give me some tips if I was sitting near him in the lineup. Much appreciated, considering he was giving me free advice while other people (including his employees) were giving pay-for-lessons all day every day all summer long.

Peter Pan's a cool a$$ dude, real positive...had a similar experience when i was a kid, out in early April w/ my buddy and he was the only other guy out, you could just tell he was stoked to see a couple groms in chilly water(I know, chilly, not cold)...still have my Watershed rash guard from back then...never met Sid, i dont spend much time in Newport.

Hinmo sorry for putting a negative vibe on your stoked out session. I'm prob misdirecting resentment for all the knuckleheads heading out lately. i was out today with two clowns wearing helmets and gopros on a chest max day.Too many people browsing RI these days. I think Im gonna move to Jersey. I like beach breaks better anyways.
