****ing goddammit, bruce irons!! seriously?? a total heat score of 3??

 

Just watched a few highlight vids... the ABUSE those boards take is unbelievable. You really get an appreciation when you watch those big turns, lip bashes, and landings in super slow-mo of the forces involved.

 

haha got to go with the seasoned pros, Bruce is a great free surfer but has been out of the circuit too long to really put up a good fight

 

Whole teams through to rd 3 except Irons. I liked his match up against Taj too but he looked like he was lost out there.

The slo-mos are awesome. Surprised Wilson only snapped his board.

 

a lot of factors went into bruce's disaster heat. He's been surfing giant waves lately, his heat was way early in the morning, rusty at the comp scene and he's been experimenting with a lot of different shapes (isn't acclimated to any), etc

anyway, I could barely even pay attention because sal masakala kept yapping about everything except what was going on in the heat.
