And with that comes the brutal flatness. Like clockwork. :( Warm weather and no waves. The same cruel joke played every year on east coast wave riders.
(I consider anything less than waist high on sets to be flat)
It will probably be the last week of August before we see a chest high wave again, unless we get really lucky.

And so begins the annual test of patience...my mom always told me patience is a virtue.

Why on earth would you consider anything less than waist high to be flat? This aint Hawaii. Like the guy said, knee-thigh can be fun on a longboard, and plenty of other small wave boards. Flat is when you cant surf because there arent any waves. Thigh high is when u grab the log, fish, mini-simmons or other plank and go surf!

    hmmmm....maybe because I bodyboard. lol
It doesn't have to be consistently waist high, but I want a waist high wave every now and then to really make it fun for me. Knee high weak windswell is a waste of time. It will barely even push a bodyboard and sometime not at all depending on the break Thigh high with occasional waist can be good.
Ok so let me change it to upper thigh and I won't call that flat.
Oh and I'm not someone who underestimates wave height. If the waves are waist high when a surfer is at the bottom of his turn, then I call it waist high. Surfers tend to undercall wave height.

    +1

Epilogue: B34-36 could possibly be the best rack specs in existence. I've got years of study to back this, but arrived at this quite early in my research.

    Nah man
While a 34B is very nice and well rounded
The 34C has plenty of surface area for maximum motorboat-azation. Still big enough to get your attention and bury your face in but small enough to know they aren't gonna sag too bad before the chic hits 60

Well said. While the C-group was my snack tray set of choice during my high school years, my illustrious collegiate career brought me the epiphany of the B-group as paramount to mammarial enjoyment and function. In my studies, a female subject not experiencing the "sag effect" by the time it reaches drinking age is a fortuitous exception for the males in its environment. After the point of descension, the appearance of buoyancy can only be seen when the subject is in the supine position on its back. You, my friend, are apparently in the company of supra-physiological super cougars if they remain shelf-like in the standing position even decades before reaching what has been popularized as "the change".

Alas, the data collection of this natural phenomenon will forever be a favorite pastime of the feral male scientist.

It's not always aboot size, it's how it's shape and power. You get a good punchy, zippy two footer and you can do all of your favorite moves. And Shark hunter sponges can get all sorts of bubbed on a two footer that's throwin-out.

Anyways, do any of you guys do any ritualistic stuff during any of the solstices? Any weird pagans out there? And I don't mean the motorcycle gang....or ummm should I say, "motorcycle club." Yeah, club.

My girl got implants under the muscle, would have to disagree...those big C's don't sag, at least not the ones I'm playing with!

That is excellent. So much less detectable than over the muscle. Feels and looks way more natural.

The sag effect we were talking about was regarding taters that are pure products of nature - aka gravitationally declined.

Not a pagan per se but I try to get down with some ritual on solstices and other significant events.

paddled out a couple days ago here in central CA and the water was 52 deg ...fortunately there was a head high, thumping windswell to go along with that, but having to wear a 4/3, booties and a hood felt weird mid june (hands were frozen the first day)

I had fun on my 9'2" early this morning. Thigh high peelers and not a soul in sight. By 8:30am it was so hot out I had to change out of my 3/2 and into trunks for the first time since october. Felt great! Summer can still be fun.

I don't like to frustrate myself with small waves (less than solid waist-high). When it gets small it's time for fishing and spearing. Problem with this summer so far is all the rain we've had--it's made the water really cloudy.

I took a long lunch today, grabbed my spearing gear and headed to WB South End. The water looked pretty clear from the beach but it turned out really silty no matter how far out I went, less than 4' of vis. At least I got to go swimming, I guess.
