http://www.surfopenacapulco.com They should run today. I think Acapulco time is EST -2. Probably going to be better watching than the Mr. Price Pro judging by the forecast. Should be a barrel fest. For those who don't know, Acapulco has had a lot of Cartel activity over the past couple years. I wonder how hard the cameramen are going to have to work to keep from showing all the guards with automatic rifles protecting the contest area.
They almost ran through the entire Round 1 but the wind came up early. I think the waves are supposed to be better tomorrow and I HOPE they get the bugs worked out of the webcast. They will probably start running around 9am EST tomorrow.
Same problem here... And I completely agree the Mr. Price has not provided much viewing pleasure. Apparently the waves there are good in the Morning but they don't have heats on demand up yet... I'm not staying up 'till 1am to watch that comp!
Is that in front of the Fairmont Princess? I stayed there about 6 years ago, that beach break can get heavy. Edit: Never mind it's a a little south at Playa Revolcadero, same stretch of beach, can get quite heavy. It's not really near much but a cool spot.
hey i've yet to get the video to load. two days of this anytime i check it. Erock, do you have any idea what format it wants to be able to view? if it's not Java or Quick Time, i don't understand it's failure to load. really wanting to see the Michael Powell/Carlos Munoz heat... happy Independence Day to all you mugs
I usually view through Safari and sometimes Chrome and never have an issue unless it's on their end. The webcast has been spotty, but I did get a chance to watch the Powell/Munoz heat. Not too many fireworks (pun intended), but Mikey had some solid waves and won the heat hands down.... their cameraman missed his best one though.
Balaram got an interference call and ended up getting bounced out... It was weird too. He was on a left and down the beach the other dude was on the same wave but going right. They ended up almost hitting each other in the middle, right at the close out air section... But Bal looked like he tried to get out of his way. The rule is whoever is on the wave 1st gets it and the other guy gets the interference. That's kind of lame. He didn't drop in on him
nynj: Do you know if Bal has enough points to enter 6-star events? He didn't enter the Punta Roca event and he's not in the one coming up in Japan at the end of the month. I'm surprised Michael Powell didn't enter the Punta Roca event, I think he's definitely seeded high enough.
I don't know what how many points he has... But I just looked at the entry list for Punta Roca and he's on it. Number 103..
No doubt... I've never been skunked down there... That wave is so sick it makes me fell like a ripper. I can't wait to see those dudes tear it apart
