Although not yet a tropical depression, low pressure near Puerto Rico continues to unleash squally weather. The low remains broad and ill-defined this morning, but winds aloft are expected to become more favorable for better organization of the system as it moves slowly northwest or north-northwest over the next day or so. In the meantime, locally heavy rain and the threat of flash flooding will persist over Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands through tomorrow. Parts of Puerto Rico have already reported over 25 inches of rain. All interests in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Hispaniola, the Turks and Caicos Islands and the southeastern Bahamas should monitor the progress of this disturbance. Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters are scheduled to investigate the system this afternoon.
