Not trying to take this thread off course, but I see those very same stickers on cars all over VB as well. Also the "Salt Life " stickers. The WRV dolphin logo sticker is so common, one would think almost half the people in VB surfed.
I should get down to OBX sometime, but the long line of traffic I've seen heading down there and returning has been discouraging.

NC water temps seem to be colder in the Summer and warmer in the winter.
two people were kilt in Corolla yesterday. A touron fell asleep and ran them over. I guess they were paying attention in school when the "walk facing traffic" portion was presented.
Once in the 80's, after a bog storm, there were tons of men o war balloons on the beach. the waves were head high (on me) and glossy. It felt like I was being electrocuted out there. I figgered it was their stinging testicle, pulverized by the storm. the jelly fish factor dropped the height to chest, so I stayed out.

In Alabammy in 71, I used to put "one way" Jesus freak stickers on my P's car to keep piggies from hassling me.

One more annoying sticker: The heart-shaped Roxy sticker every blonde-haired hussy from Cherry Hill to Cape May has on their back window.
Bill, yes I do like guns.
My bumper sticker on my car in my youth was a simple one: It said, "I LOVE COPS"
    It didn't work

when I catch them looking at me out of the car, I'd point my index towards the sky. if they kept looking I'd walk up saying, "have you met the lord?" that usually did it. Of course, I found out earlier this year, that there was a mandate that cops off base were to leave dependents alone. which, now, explains why those peckerwoods took so much crap from us.

Found out the place is pretty much across from the Harris Teeter. Never surfed in that general area. On PJB's authority, I'll stay away from the Pizazz Pizza that is next to it.

Head out in the early am for no wind, find the sandbars like others have said and head to 4WD beach...I've had plenty of fun summer surf in Corolla.

There's a f'ing Harris Teeter in Corolla now? Oh Lordy........Shoot I forget that's it's been nearly ten years since I roamed the streets of Ocean Sands. Section H I J, yo. I was wayyy mo' bad arse than the dudes repping West 3rd in KDH.

Yeah, Pizzaz sucks. I mean pizza can never be "bad," but you know.

Hey Losttsol, how do you feel aboot Eastern European girls? Watch out for local drunk, "Rick," if he's still around.....

    Remember, Lighthouse Bagels......

I'm going to do some goodvibe thang and hope you get a good set-up with some good swell. I swear I had one of the greatest sessions in my life in Corolla. Considering I surf New Jersey, that's quite impressive. It was like Indo, the Carribean and a famous Gold Coast beachbreak all combined together. And I went for breakfast down in town and passed on the surf down there, for some reason, and just went back home.........and I made a correct decision for once.

    Every dog has his day.......

Here's your irony for the day, that is exactly where the Harris Teeter is located. Right across from Ocean Sands section E.

Delbert's the King of the Avalon Pier in town. Rick is a Northern Virginia transplant probably in his 60's now, that cruises the local Corolla bar scene. SUndogs and The Tomato Patch used to be his favorite haunts. Smokes cheap menthol cigarettes........ Sings along to the jukebox. Hangs out with the "I moved to Corolla from Pittsburgh and now I'm Joe Local" twenty-something crowd......and the Eastern Europeans.

Losttsol: No shoot. Wow. I probably would still be loyal to The Food Lion though. All the African American ladies at the Food Lion just loved me. I especially digged the African Americans from Elizabeth City who think they and their "city" is rough. That was always amusing, especially the younger fools that worked at The Sanderling Inn.

Oh yeah, stay away from the Ethridge brothers and their Wanchese bretheren. That is if they're not in jail.

They won't be surfing but they will be standing like big ol' tree trunks on the access path with a bud tall boy in hand.

Stick to lighthouse bagels for breakfast (bagels and donuts...no offense to some that like duck donuts but there stuff sucks major in comparison)

Pretty much anywhere in Ocean Sands has really good sandbars this year since they did some dune replenishment so just look around and there will be a wave breaking somewhere.
