My buddy and I went South around 5pm and it was pretty nuts! Well overhead, massive barrels breaking right on the beach. Winds were slightly off and was semi-clean. It was large and in charge!
Yea, Cape May was great last yesterday into the night. I was expecting it to be all ****ed up after class but luckily i got some waves in before dark.
I thought about it....Didn't see any real way of getting out. Besides pier jumping. And, didn't feel like ducking 30 waves to get out past the pier. (I'm not superman). It wasn't even close to being semi-clean here (Northern Monmouth). But I did see some poor guy trying to make the paddle out. He didn't get more than 10 ft in the water.
The paddle out was awesome... wait for the set to come in, time one of the smaller waves and jump over it right after it broke on shore and bam, you were out in 2 seconds. Getting back in was a real ***** tho!! Just kept ripping you out even when you were in 1ft of water.
Wtf ? OK, so here's the dealio...I finally figure out how to post "reply" on this thing - me of minimal patience and I inquire of the Man behind the curtain (aka Swellinfo Admin.) where the cove cam her referred to relative to the Cape May thread could be accessed. Short lived reassurance that my computer challenged butt could actually post when I saw my post / request posted. Now, not only is my "request" post now gone but so too is Swellinfo post. You F'n wit me? (If you are, take a number and stand in line...) Or am I not using the secret password? If so, "Swordfish!" OK?
My buddy went down yesterday morning as well and got some photos..I will ask him if I can upload them here. The pictures from the morning don't justify what it was like last night...
