As long as it's not "The Drifter", which is the worst surf movie ever. Never seen "Drifting", if I do I pray I can see Rob actually surf and not scooter around giving me shi**y monologues on the meaning of life. The Drifter has such insane tubes and could be so great, but it is ruined by Taylor Steele and Rob's love for sappy bogusness.

    solid thread...

1- Wave Warriors 4 was always in our vcr... best of the series, sick soundtrack and the great 80 quotes...fletcher, johnny boy, pottz... it is a classic and still the best

2- the Occymentary... my favorite surfer of all time, cuts from all the classic billabong and mccoy movies, it always gets me pumped to surf....

but the all-time best surfing footage I have ever seen is probably the free-surfing from the 2012 Volcom contest, sitting in bed and watching until some ungodly hour was simply insane...better than any packaged movie..

the surfing industrial complex has changed dramitically over the past 5 years.everything is about airs.back in the late 80s,early 90s there were plenty of guys who did huge airs on boards that weighed 6lbs,guys like christian fletcher, barney, archy and they were considered retards when they did an air in a contest.a lot of ppl hate on fletcher, because he was a drug addict or whatever, yea well most surfers of that era were on some kind of drugs and fell in a hole and eventually made their way up.christians brother nathan,by far one of the top 10 best bigwave chargers.grandpa walter hoffman, legendary tow pioneer, herbie fletcher damn near taught every world class surfer today how to surf in the whitewater.then u got guys like the santa cruz boys, skindog, pete mel, flea, barney.first off i will say with confidence nobody will ever charge as hard as flea when it comes to big waves.also christian fletcher beat tom curren at 2nd reef pipe on lsd.thats like nat young beating slater on ecstasy at fiji.drugs are bad,i dont support them, but you cant erase what some created and paved the way for todays generation.i was reading this book "the wave" its about bigwave surfing, and theres an article about laird hamilton talking about jaws, after the billabong oddysy came out and the xxl awards and so many wanted to win that prize and thats what made jaws so dangerous.it used to be 3 tow teams, now its like 200 paddlers.most can handle it.its funny when i see guys like matt meola, who in my eyes fukin rips, talk about how he almost died goin left at jaws, when u see old footage of laird freefalling off the lip on a 70footer in only boardshorts,no lifevests or anything, still make it and come up.yes its dangerous, but you have to know what your doing.laird said its like a kid just took the training wheels off the bike,so now they want to go down mt everest on a mountain bike.its just stupid.remember surf for fun,get an education.bobby martinez won like 6tour events and look at him now.bal stack got laid off from quiksilver and he rips.it doesnt matter if you can boost 10x higher than johnjohn,if your on the eastcoast the sponsors dont care for you.but move to cali or oz and youll have 10sponsors before the nights over

Endless Summer always comes first. North Shore, Chasing Mavericks, Riding Giants, Big Wednesday, used to have Mad Wax. The idea is every surfers dream.
