I went to a concert a few months ago, the Black Keys and Flaming Lips and I had never really listened to either one of them. The Black Keys Suck....a lot. Flaming Lips were pretty good.

I would probably go with the Who. This album was a work of art: http://youtu.be/qq9uSZnby04

Hey man, that reply doesn't upset me. The Who is up there, ya know. Plus, they displayed a true sign of rock genius - their drummer died from a drug related incident. Keith Moon knew what it was aboot. That's rock n' roll, man. If you guys listen to people who aren't strung-out then you're probably listening to bunk.

Long hair, Marshall Stacks, and substance abuse..........

You just made a friend for life! I use that as one of my many reasons I despise U2. Along with their heinously awful music.

I really have a strong hatred for Ja Rule. His voice is just terrible.

And finally, how has no one mentioned Creed? Painful to listen to that stupid deep, hardly comprehensible voice.

isn't Creed the born-again Nickleback? the painful, preachy, hypocritical rock sound of america's red state christian morality? ughh

you choose the edge as the most pretentious member of U2? that being said, there is some good stuff from back when they were small, political and the irish were still lobbing morter shells into 10 Downing street

now i have that "used to know" song in my head. i need a drink

Saw the same show. 3rd time I saw Flaming Lips. Wearing their shirt now about how great MDMA is...They can be amazing... That show was all right. Black Keys Kicked some serious A$$$$!!! They were great. I love all their stuff. And While I'm defending: U2... Boy and October Late 70's early 80's... Great Albums. Now, Nickelback? Almost puked typing the name. When I go to hel! that will be my soundtrack for eternity...

I don't really care about whether they can sell out stadiums all over the world, but I agree - when I first heard Boy it pretty much blew me away..I was in college at the time and lost interest in U2 when their music got all big and grandiose. But they were a band that for a while anyways...were in a league of their own...passion, commitment and sonics when the rest of the music industry was wasting time with electronic drum new wave and hair metal.

Live at Red Rocks is from back then as well, and is some nice live U2 racket.

Good call, they really need to hang it up. One band I forgot to mention that I absolutely abhor is that band Fun...they sing that "some nights" blah blah mumbo jumbo...and they play them on our local "alternative rock" station. Autotune blows.

WHOA WHOA WHOA. ok, emass, youre finally giving us some clues into your mysto-sportsplayingformoney identity.

you play a sport with canadians? ok, im gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that you are possibly on the bruins. however, many canadians/americans who are not good enough to play real sports also engage in an activity called lacrosse. boston has a professional lax team too. (thats so chill)

so youre either the softest dude on the bruins (seguin, chris bourque or hamilton) or youre just some jagg0ff who plays "professional lacrosse"......dude u r s0000000 busted!!!!!!

as far as hip-hop tailored to your tastes, might i suggest some kris kross or benzino

All proffesional lacrosse players aren't jagg0ffs.

And about music, Mumford and Sons sounds like a depressing hayride. And you ride that haride over and over again because every song is the exact same. But yeah basically 90% of stuff in the past 5 years is garbage. Some of it may be catchy, but it better be when you have 5 music producers and multiple songwriters etc to produce music for one "artist".

Another thing I hate, all the grouplove/passion pit/ imagine dragons/crap that comes on the rock radio stations. MY cd player broke so I have to hear some of this crap every mother cluckin day. Just play some Chili Peppers, it's good for the soul.
