Gonna be in Tamarindo in a few weeks and Im trying to find the cheapest way to get to witches rock. Anyone have any suggestions or experiences that they can share? I will be travelling with the wife, but I will be the only surfer. All the sites I have checked are giving prices for the whole boat. Is there anyone who will take a single passenger? Thanks in advance.

Just go into town and ask around to see if a group is headed up there and hop on with them. Also, easier and cheaper to drive north of Tamarindo first and catch a closer boat ride

talk the surf shops. they can usually find a slot or two on a boat for you. if you drive and meet at the boat, that will save you money.

I went with "witches rock surf camp (WRSC)" out of Tamarindo. Can't miss them. The boat tour was quite enjoyable, but it was funny that I ended up getting ripped off by one of their employees afterhours trying to read the bong thread. Anyways, Witches, Ollies, and another random cliff / cove. 5 or 6 hrs, I think it was like $75/head, I don;t remember, it was a few years back. Witches was sick but super crowded, like 10 boats. Ollies is such a fun, fast wave. Made me love surfing backside. Random cove north of playa grande was pretty solid as well. Take off at a cliff and ride all the way into a cove. I think they were calling it "negrones" or something of that nature.
