Well, don't get your hopes up for cat. 5 style waves, but it looks like the east coast could get some ground swell as the forecast track shows the current storm in the tropical atlantic swinging out to sea and keeping a good distance between the coast. Maybe some nice long period clean swell in the week ahead. Hopefully for us up in the northeast too.

At this point I'll believe it when I see it heading our way.

Just saw that too. Is this the progression of that Invest that was headed due west in the Caribbean the other day? Looks like it may be headed too far out once it gets up to the Northeast.

How was Labor Day in MV? Just saw ACK from a plane out of Boston. Had always looked at the Boston Harbor Islands from above then shut the window. ACK looked pretty cool from above.

It was pretty nice, fourth of july was better though. Went surfing on a cloudy day and the beach next to the sand-bar i surf at was packed as hell anyways. Went to a local surf shop and got a new superfish board it was originally like 700 bucks but on labor day it was off 150 so i bought it. No waves to test it out on yet but im looking forward to using it if this storm holds true.

According to the weather channel there is a "brick wall" protecting us. The jet stream on one side and high pressure on the other. Better stock up on the Prozac.

In my home break (North Coast PR), it was chest high with the occasional shoulder high set and glassy yesterday afternoon. Kind of packed tho', with about 20 people desperate for anything to surf after a few weeks of thigh to waist high dribble.

I went out this morning at 6AM and it was more of the same: Consistently chest high with a shoulder high set once in a while. But only four guys were out!!

I guess everyone thought it would be pouring rain based on the satellite pics. I actually got sunburned - zero rain, just enough overcast to fool you into thinking you don't need sunblock.

On second thought, it's raining cats and dogs and windy down here. Don't bother to make the trip down ;) :) :p
