I love it, guy moves to a new state and the first thing he decides to do is b**** about it on a internet forum. Seems like the problem might be you, not the entire population of Massachusetts.

Some of my best pals were from Massachusetts: Patrick M. of Brighton, MA.........Kevin the Cosgrove of Hingham, MA and Rodney P repping Hyde Park.........and can't forget Spicoli. Man, that dude had to be captain of the debate team during his Andover years.

I wouldn't take on Spicoli in a debate. And I'll take on anybody......well except Spicoli. I got barreled more than he did today, though, so HA !!

Boston might be the best city in America. Good lord, it's certainly not Philadelphia. I'd have to try out Portland, OR, Seattle, WA and Charleston, SC before I make any claims though. Yeah, sometimes I watch Portlandia and dream.....

I like Portland, ME alot, but it's not big enough to qualify for top honors.........Maine's friggin awesome. Yo, who's got a boat? There some exploring to do up in Maine.

True story. That was probably the only rough wave Mango produced that day but it was jacked and so was I. Was sitting on the inside and too far in front of it but couldn't resist. Smoke em if you got em. Carpe or bust. Not gonna get barrelled or pinned by duck diving or falling off the back of every wave faux paddling. Thing shotted me 6 feet under but I still rose from the seemingly dead after the spin cycle with no energy saver. Still loved it. That's one less time I'll get thrown to the depths in the future. Trestles has South Pacific gifts for me this coming weekend, look at the report...STOKED!!!

Well, no one will tell me aboot this trip.

OMG, Ocean0, little Jersey barrels today. Camoflauge green water with a three inch visibility level. Hey it's better than chocolate.

As far as waist to chest high days go, it was a solid 6.5 on the stoke scale.

There were no dogs on the beach which would have made it better.

the only rough wave? what does that mean? it was one of the bigger waves. solid overhead. ricardo and I saw what happened coming well before it happened. just glad you were ok. kinda surprised you weren't pickin urchins outta your head after that. must have been some sight to be looking toward the point then have a lip throwing over your head while still paddling. not even a slight head turn to look at the wave you were paddling for! classic. bet you'll never do that again.

your stoked on trestles. good luck getting a wave. surf middles if you have a chance. between uppers and lowers. it's the overflow spot. or head down to Oceanside. really spread out down there.

Can't believe you repped the Big Blue on 28. Makes sense now. You gentleman scholar. I, however, am as public school as it gets. I didn't open a book until college and even then it only happened thrice. High school GPA was just over 50% of my Dean's List collegiate tally.

We wouldn't want to go toe-to-toe in discourse when we could be greater wingmen than Bird-McHale.

Portland, ME is nice but had its heyday a couple years ago before the secret got out. Kind of like a good break. The smaller towns just south of it still have plenty of charm.

Glad you got pinned today. You are stoking me into modifying my technique this evening at dusk patrol where I shall go parallel to the 0.3m wave and 360 roll towards the beach while embracing the SB. For with that strategery, I shall pit myself. Not quite a green room, more like a green crawlspace. A really small crawlspace. AO/OO says barrelled is barrelled and NeverLoseInSantaCruz speaks Gospel.

I'm in no way looking to go toe-to-toe with you. I'm just saying you're not somebody I want to get in a Northeatern intellectual debate with. I'll stick to man handling the southerners. Aww relax, Dixie, I'm just funnin'

See you got me again........."repping big blue on number 28" I'm lost.....can't figure that one oot.

Sorry it ain't bigger up there, but I don't even know where this pulse came from today. And it was a high-tide thang at that. Once the tide started backing out it lost a foot or two........But still, 1-3' during lowish tide, on a beautiful, bright, September Sunday is better than 0 feet.

And it's that football season again. Tomorrow night Washington will get violated and molested and thrown in an abandoned building somewhere on 14th St in SE DC to rot and fester.........Lock up your daughters and your dogs from Anacostia to Leesburg to Prince George's County...........Philly's coming down 95

Brah, those waves jack so much faster than EC waves it makes the home bumps seem like slow-mo. I typically look over both shoulders repeatedly as it nears but on that one was right in line with that peak, albeit too far ahead. I say rough as I was the only one treated rough on any wave that whole morn. Speaking of rough, the only crime that morning was your SC brah not giving that Guat divorcee a rough one back in the barn. Not a closer and coffee is for closer. You want that coffee when you're in Central America.

You ever been on that carney ride called the Round Up? It's where you're in that cage and rotating in all directions and when the centrifuge kicks in they drop the floor out from you like the Turkish Twist ride. That's what those Pac waves look like at the floor, when they shoot up the elevator like the Chocolate Factory. Hence, the need to not look down at all and just where I want to go.

Yes stoked on Trestles and I'll charge up and down that coast to all the breaks. Even giving up watching the Pats home opener at 5pm PST since it will be perhaps the best conditions of the whole trip at those breaks. Ain't no paddle like a west coast paddle cuz a west coast paddle don't stop, when you see a stoked Spicoli in a jacked wave on the lip then you gotta give the Masshole his props. Going in with full intent to replace "paddle" with "barrell".

PB&J sage brah I know you weren't prompting a meet at the break in albino rash guards. Was suggesting our prowess if we ever joined forces on a stand-up stage.

It's gotta be your optimism that's bringing the waves. Your daily positive affirmations to the sea are rewarding you. The tropically depressed on here should follow suit but misery is comforting.

Murdah in RFK? The NFL seemed to nail all the rivalries this week. It's been a sick day to watch gridiron. Hope there's a flea flicker or some semblance of a halfback pass in rcarter's silver linings playbook!!!

def a good football day. gotta admit i was rooting for Buffalo to hang on and win at the end there...but Brady with the ball and 2:00 + wes welker clones everywhere = no hope for the Bills. poor poor Bills. gotta be the most hard luck team in sports history.

how bout the Jets? talk about lucky

Put together a deece 3 paragraph but 250 word post earlier in the NFL thread while on the celly but the browser timed out and I decided not to expend my effort redoing it. I bet that doesn't happen on jerseyplaya's iPhone 6. Can't wait for that piece of machinery.

Yeah, Brady 21-2 vs. the Bills in his career. The Bills used to give us #AFCEastprobs back when they were a powerhose (yes braws, I meant powerhose) popularizing the no-huddle offense with the former signal-caller of the Houston Gamblers. Wes will always be a respected overachiever and Amendola did a fine job not letting his hurt (not injured, there's a difference) nutsack and not seeing 1st quarter keep him from double-catches and triple digit yards.

This team always rises above epidemic injuries, murdahs, espionage scrutiny, and other assorted obstacles to still giterdunn. Vereen looked like a poor man's Roger Craig out there and if they give him the rock more often he will further resemble Craig. A team that wins when it plays poorly is formidable. There seemed to be some lubricant on the ball. Who put that on the pigskin today?

Atlanta had their chance and Matty Ice usually delivers in that situation but a man needs protection and the line let the Aints pummel him on the last play. That's a great rivalry and I've been at the Dome for it in prior years. Jackson was a huge pickup.

C'mon David, did you really give Sanchez another 15 yards on his relatively uncontested scramble at the end? You handed them the game and you don't do that in this league of non-guarantee for the player. Step into my office...you're fired. As much as I am pissed a division rival didn't get a loss and as much as I despise the NYJ's, I'm happy for Rex that David footed...I mean handed him the game. You got to give a man some credit when he's weathered the schittstorm of the media all the way to a cameo in That's My Boy of a Pats die hard. Love Bill B but you won't see him cracking a joke in the 5th quarter interview let alone H-Wood.

Appreciate the clarification. That's how much I pay attention to that team. All I saw of that game was the last 30 seconds and two plays, the scramble with the late hit and then the winning kick. If you count Rex raising the roof as a play then I saw three. In other news, Sanchez is the biggest disappointment of a USC quarterback in the NFL since Todd Marinovich. PB&J has a poster in his washroom of Marijuanavich out of respect for his extra-curricular achievements that were consistent throughout his career and well after.

Ha, man, I'm so not optimistic. That's illegal in this state.

Though I come from a time, long, long ago where tropical systems weren't a given. Ya see, if you just joined this game in the past few years you were led to believe that late August started a pattern of back to back 'cane swells. And that just isn't how the east coast, especially the northern hinterlands, roll. Yeah, you usually got something....here or there, but some years were as bad as this. Though we could break a record of the latest into a season with out a hurricane. Now that just means there were NO hurricanes. We don't get waves from every Hurricane in the Atlantic basin, mind y'all.

The real problem has been these past Septembers haven't ushered in consistent cold fronts marching across the country or friendly, happy lows forming down in the gulf or off Hatty. Back in the good ol' days this happened more frequently, but the beginning of September is......the beginning of September. Still summer. Nature doesn't play the Memorial Day to Labor Day thang. But the past few years practically all of our surf through September into early October was tropical related.

Though if youse guys missed the FAll of 2011.....well that's too bad. That was a fall. It started with Hurricane Irene in late August and almost never stopped until mid-December.........then that winter was God-awful........

The East Coast - when you play.......you got to pay.
