Heeeeerrrreeee it cooooommmmeeeess!!!!!!! 9 days straight of pure old-fashioned EC windswell! Betta than nothin!!! Mad current yo. Ocean looks not clean today, but at least there's somethin to do!!!! Fire up your 9mm suits because the water's in the 60s oh no!! Or be reasonable and get out there in baggies or a 3/2 tops. Boots or gloves and you're a stiff! Let the sub-standard scoring begin!!! Really am stoked about this!!! More than flatness is exciting.
You are a true glass is half full kinda guy. Either an admiral trait, or the first sign that lack-of-swell dementia syndrome (LOSDS) has finally started to kick in. Keep the faith bro!
Yeah, not much here to get excited about...onshore winds should ruin any chance of fun, but I like your attitude!
Spicoli's cup not half full, on the reg it runneth ovah braddah!!!!! It's admiral fo sho braw. Also akin to "camp goggles", aka when mom and pops sent you away to Meatballs for 8 weeks each summah and by week 3 the band geek girl with nosebuddah errday looks like Yasmine Bleeth circa '96. Let's go eat a plate of mushburgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Probs gonna be a speedy takeoff or two in there!!! Pertinent question is....what stick should I pull from the quiver for 4-5ft chop at 5-7s with 15-20mph onshores? Tide is the only redeeming part of this equation so peaks should be emerging off the sandbars. I got about 5 mins before the wetty is on so what say the chargers of SI for the stick of choice this fine choppy eve??
Choose the stick that duckdives the easiest. Your gonna be doing alot of that, so go with a thin nose with a fat ass, kinda like that girl in camp.
Paddled my face off for about 90 minutes in classic NE chop. Air was warm, water real warm (yet one cat in hooded suit with mitts and boots WTF?!) and wind was warm. Bunch of chargers out there. Low tide was timely. Swell was solid. Chop for sure but not in the closeout or really messy sense. There were sections to be had but it was like a game of keno. Shifty as a hot girl in the bar around last call. The kind that if you don't spot and approach within 3 seconds some other dude has already slid in or she just thinks you're a sackless chump for hesitating. But yeah, shifty peaks galore. If you found yourself on one you could get a decent takeoff and perhaps a good drop and if you were fortunate, a section to stay in. Good call on the stick s-dogg, I was duck diving non-stop. Great to get a workout in like that again! Only managed a half dozen rides or so just because so much time was spent peak hunting and then getting out back after a ride but schitt brahs, I'll take it. Tomorrow AM supposed to be very, very clean and still waist and up for height. Keeping my eye on Los Hamptones later in the week to see if that head-high forecast can clean up. WINDSWELL IS BACK!!!!! (better than no swell!)
The winds laid down like a geisha named Mariah tonight just before dusk at WB. Waist to Stomach with very little drift ....
Here in Delmarva, we need the sand to get pulled out, so its a good thing for our sandbars. Besides, they just dumped millions of dollars of sand at our inlet, so it will be fun watch all those tax dollars drift away.
I'm glad you got some Koki. Now go home and watch some Sponge Bob! Surf deprivation mania is setting in down here. I paddled/swam for an hour on lake like conditions. But every dog has its day. The weatherdudes are calling for chest high chop Thursday. "I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready eddy eddy!"
I drifted from merciers to south end jetty TWICE today only to leave right before it got good...never fails
