So surprised there is not a forum about last weeks barrel fest on the OBX! So ill start one.
friday and saturday were incredible, but i think the late afternoon of thursday was macking as well. I mean did you see the surfline sequence of the week! Brett Barely found some real east coast shade. Speaking of, I met his dad in the line up and then later at his bar in Buxton, so that was supremely cool. Everyone was getting rips! Everyone was getting shacked! Anyway, anybody else have any pics/vids/stories from our most recent keg party?

I was just thinking it was weird there hasn't been a thread about this past weeks swell on the east coast. I have a uncle down in kitty hawk, he said you guys got some awesome waves. Up here on long island conditions weren't great but it's been atleast chest high since Wednesday. Wednesday was pretty sloppy but it was rideable and pretty fun still. Thursday and Friday were much better conditions and bigger. Guys were deffinitly getting shacked and I got one of the longest/biggest barrels Iv ever had. Saturday wasnt as big but was probally the day with the best conditions. I took today off because my arms feel like spaghetti. Tomorrow morning is forecasted to be chest high and clean. Looks like the last day of swell for us up here. Although conditions weren't perfect I couldn't be happier with this past week. Water is still warm and we had chest high or bigger for 5 days and tomorrow should make 6. I can't remember the last time that has happened. I'm curious how everyone else on the east coast made out

Well if you consider a weekend full of shoulder to head high reports turning out to be a scam then we scored endlessly!!!!! Not a happy Spicoli right now.

I agree about long island. Surf was big fast and powerful with long rides for almost a week.

Yeah I went out in Long Beach last week. Super fun. The trip from Jeresey in the early morning was not so fun.

Not to shabby considering what we get in vb. I'm down with this. One day in the bay. Wednesday I believe. Might have to again tomorrow. Winds are steady but should ease

pitted would be an exaggeration after seeing brett's wave at the lighthouse on surfline, but I got covered up a few times, yeah. Was nice to have a couple days of decent waves.

Spicoli, dont know where you were (again) but we scored some 3-5ft in RI at the right spots. Every once in awhile a 6ft double up would rogue its way through the lineup.. surfed four days straight of amazing pumping chest high waves.. where the f were you?

Schitt man. Was getting all conflicting accounts due to those winds differing output across exposed vs unexposed spots. Wasn't driving 5 hours total without the sure thing when local (and eventually bunk) reports showed the goods. Scored some on Friday so I can't cry poor, but there was way too much swell within a 6 hour drive to not surf my face off for days. This is all too familiar of early July when it cranked in RI and went flat in MA still with big reports then I finally got stoked when I started making the Rhodey trip in late July. You know I'm checking PJ, Second, and Gansett on 7 diff sites on the repeated web page refreshment. Feels like NASA here sometimes.

Can only look ahead. Going back to SD for half of November but I gotta prep for that man. Plus, it gets real old sitting here looking at the Atlantic all night counting seconds in period while watching the Rip Curl Pro get called off and then I have to go watch 36 more vids of Kelly and some supergrom get shacked at Shipstern's like it was Section 8 housing.

Once again, glad you scored. I mean, I got a dozen rides on Friday but my appetite's insatiable. Bring back Spring 2013. Swell for weeks, brah.

Shoulda trekked north, emass. Caught some fun ones in NH Sunday morning, shifty and onshore but if you were patient there were some really fun lines

Certainly did not get pitted though. Sigh...

THAT was awesome. Sick this is that dude probably wasn't even high. Seems like that's his status quo with a lil bit of stoke and theatrics since he knew he was gonna be on the television set. Great post SB

The ESA ran a contest this weekend at Jeanette's. The waves were the best I've seen for one of these in a looong time. Head-high A-frames all day long, so many waves there were no paddling hassles, just a great time had by all. THANK YOU OCTOBER!
