You too huh? I cut the inside of my left heel on my center fin and then on top of my right foot not too long after the 1st. Praying they heal with no issues with bacteria. Apparently getting covered up and then closed out on can be hazardous to your health, IDK, didn't stop me from surfing for hours after though.
I can honestly say that I don't think in over 30 years of surfing on the east coast that I have ever been truly "pitted".
getcha buns to some of the northern maine rock reef breaks. If you got the kahunas you get the barrells
Anyone else in MD thinking that we were the only ones to have 15-25 knot N-NNE winds blowing for 7ish days strait? Because above and below scored, NJ and NY seemed to get it and definitely VA and NC. Even Friday when the wind died off the surf wasn't much.
Saturday the wind turned almost straight east where I was in RI, made it quite interesting...Friday was pretty darn clean.
That's why we drove to obx on Friday morning. The sandbars in md are all wacked out from all this east wind.
We had the same winds on Long Island. We face south. The swell and the wind had a lot of east in it. Not perfect conditions but still really good.
yeah, sh!t..the last time i surfed anything decent was last Tuesday, and i did get pitted, so pitted! that evening ...then the sh!tfest arrived...wishing i had have made the trek south this weekend, but it just wasn't in the cards. Hoping it cleans up, later on in the week looks like there might be some hope.
I think I speak for most njersians as we seen a weeklong swell over head high and got nothing but stormy seas and washing machines while the obx and ny got great barrels.i stopped by the beach every day since Thursday checkin out the winds, first spot all messy mushy closeout, drive down the seawall and every American flag is blowing easterly towards the houses so I knew yup onshore everywhere
Monmouth cty NJ was just a mess-victory at sea. Got fed up so I made the haul to LI for some...pitting.. BTW, I know guys who know that guy in So Cal and they said he totally made up that surfer speak for the news crew-pretty funny.
Outside of OBX I think some of you cats are exaggerating. Pitted? Surfed the whole swell at Long Beach and Rockaway and didn't see anybody pull into a single barrel. Was a nice swell but nothing over about shoulder high.
I surfed the whole swell at long beach, guys weren't getting shacked on every wave, it was not a barrel-fest but there were barrels to be had out there. More so on Thursday and Friday. Those two days also had sets in the head high range. It's long island, no one was getting barrels like Kelly did at cloudbreak obviously. Iv seen guys pull in at long beach on chest high waves. It dosn't need to be over head for it to happen, it just happens more often
put down a solid 4 hours in kitty hawk on Friday then surfed some fun windswell in VB on Sunday. Best birthday present ever.
